Reds Final Roster...

Featured Replies

I used to get so excited about the reds and opening day...I really was in love with the reds back in 99...Then a year later we get Junior and it as went south ever since...What kind of chance does this team have to win the Central?I guess you could call me a bandwagon reds fan...I mean I love them even if they are losing it's just hard to keep up with them the entire season when they can't even break 500...I want that excitement back in my life...From 97 to 03 I would make that two hour drive for at least two games and I know I would watch all the the games played on Fox sports Cn...I was a hardcore Reds fan and everyone who knew me Knew I loved the Reds...I miss those days...

So what I am getting at...Does Dusty Baker have a Reds team that will bring that magic back to Cincinnati?

It won't take long for Homer to return the rotation. It will either be for Arroyo or Owings.

They should have traded or released him then. He isn't going to help the team any, and Bailey is a much better option, even if it's out of the pen.

I disagree. Masett will be a big help out of the pen IMO. Arroyo is having trouble already, and I believe Bailey will be in the rotation very soon.

This looks like it will be the opening day lineup...

Hairston lf

Mcdonald cf,

Votto 1b

Phillips 2b

Bruce rf

Encarnacion 3b

Hernandez c

Gonzalez ss

Harang p

Taveras is sick.

Why put a sub Mendoza line hitter in the #2 slot?

I think I posted this in the wrong thread...I will add it to the right one..

What does he bring to the table that Bailey doesn't? Bailey is much better than Masset, in whatever capacity they use him.

Experience pitching out of the bullpen for one.Bailey is much better than Masset based on what? This year's Spring Training stats? Surely you're not going on that alone? Bailey would have been the long man out of the pen. He could go several days without pitching. The Reds brass obviously thinks it would be much more beneficial to Bailey to have him start out the year in Louisville.

Bailey's future is still as a starter, so I would have no problem sending him to Louisville with the knowledge that as soon as there is an opening, he's getting the call. And given the health questions around Harang, Arroyo and even Owings, that could be soon.

I would be willing to place a large wager that those three will not all make at least 25 starts.

Bailey has options, Masset doesn't.

Masset could be a key to this year's bullpen. Bailey will be in the starting rotation, sooner rather than later.

Great question.

Another question would be what happened to Dusty's philosophy of having the CF lead off?

Bailey will get more and more work in Louisville, only making him better!
