I think that team was more talented than they get credit for.

 

Pelphrey was a pretty good college basketball player. Feldhaus was a solid guy who would bang inside and could hit the three. Woods wasn't a scorer, but he was a good PG...solid defender and could handle the ball well. Farmer was the least talented, but he was a great shooter who had to be accounted for on the offensive end.

 

Add a stud like Mashburn to the equation and that makes things easier for everyone else and makes them all better.

On a normal day, Duke was probably 15-20 points better at least. How many times did Sean Woods crack 20 points in his career? Was that the only one?

Woods had 6 total 20+ games in his UK career. The Duke game was his only one of his senior year. He actually had them progressively less year after year, getting 3 his sophomore year and 2 in his junior year.
