NY Times: "UK fans are delusional"

Featured Replies

Obviously, because you want it to work out in your head. :D

I don't see many changes in who/what Calipari recruits. A Tiger doesn't change his stripes, so to speak. I'd say if Mitch and Lee start telling Cal he can't recruit the guys he's been getting, Cal's tenure in Lex won't last long. And who's to say that's not a sticking point delaying the announcement?

I think you are raising the issues here that need to be addressed if his hire goes through. I remember when some had a fit because they uncovered NCAA problems when Pitino was at Hawaii.

Could be but imo it is what was reported earlier today that Memphis admin, boosters and alums were making some serious "sweetening" of the pot.:idunno:

I am crushed that the NY Times thinks we are all delusional. Can't they just let us live in our delusions and leave us alone.

What is important to UK fans? Is it winning? Is it integrity? Is it PR? Is it long-term? Is it short-term? From reading all these threads, I'm overwhelmed with the whole situation...and I LIVE in Kentucky. Imagine how the rest of the nation percieves the situation.:ohbrother:Don't blame it on the NY Times. They're not saying anything many non-18%'s aren't saying.:idunno:

As for just me of ther things you mentioned.... Integrity/class, Winning, Long term and PR are all important to me and a U.K. coach imo should have a combination of all. Obviusly, winning and long term remain to be seen after the hire no matter who is hired.

As for the N.Y. Times, I don't blame the one statement about U.K. or the fans on them. What I meant that imo the times have been proven over and over again as world class liars and spinning stories to what they want and jmo from some reports may be heading out of businesss themselves. The Times are no credible source in info on anything for me. All of that is leading into another thread on another forum though and I am not going there.:D

What is Memphis States Graduation rate?

I believe their whatever it's called is .927, which is lower than UK's currently.

:thumb: Sems like they can't even run there own company/paper so who are they to comment on someone they never covered much before.:idunno:

My daughter sent it to me in an e-mail. There were 3 different pictures, but I chose this one for my avatar. You like? :D
