Here's an idea: Why don't some alumni get together and set up a booster club so that we can raise money for the school and the kids who deserve these rings. Just a thought.

I don't think EZ Living meant the post to sound as it did. School's used to be able to provide uniforms, shoes, etc without a cost to the parents. ( I do know of one private school that also got uniforms/warm ups donated in the late 90's at no charge). Many school districts cannot afford to pay for this anymore. Championship ring's are either paid for by the parent's or private donation's.

You are entirely right. If I had it to do over with I would have phrased the title of the thread differently. All schools are in dire straits when it comes to being able to finance sports and other extracurricular activities. You guys just woke me up as to the need to be careful how you word these things. That said I still feel it is a worthwhile endeavor and hope everyone can fiind a few dollars to help out here and whenever we feel the need arises. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to respond and donate whatever they could. I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated.

Wow!!! That's one heck of a Booster Association. No wonder they have the best of everything. Oh except a 2009 State Championship in Basketball. These boys do deserve a ring. Thing is, they need to pay for it themselves or raise the money. I have had to pay out over $1300 for two rings the past two years. But I did because I thought my kid deserved it. Go to the local merchants and see if they will help. I'm sure they will get them. Congrats to Holmes!!! Actually nice to have this problem.

We just received a very nice thank you letter from Superintendent Lynda Jackson, along with a great DVD of the recap of the Championship game and homecoming, "One Shining Moment". It was awesome.
