Can you tell me any thing about this guys game??? How you assume he is just like Michael Porter is beyond me. Tell me how Kyle Macy is not Mike Porter. Tell me how Travis Ford is not Mike Porter. Tell me how Wayne Turner is not Mike Porter. Tell me how Allen Edwards is not Mike Porter.

Travis Ford was not highly athletic. Patrick Sparks was not highly athletic. Wayne Turner was not highly athletic. Cliff Hawkins was not highly athletic. Kyle Macy was not highly athletic. Would you take any of these guys right now?

I'm not the one getting on here saying the kid is going to be a contributor. I'm reading that he's a strong shooter but not athletic. That's a problem in this conference. To have you and others come on here and act like he can be our PG next season is a classic case of "he must be good because our Cats signed him."

 

Secondly, you have to look at how he fits into THIS team. BCG , rightly or wrongly, only plays half court man. If you're not long and athletic and you try to play on the perimeter in THIS defense, you're dead meat and the entire D will suffer.

 

Travis Ford didn't have to do that. Ricky P liked to use the zone trap in the half court or full court. Yes, he played man but he wasn't 100% as BCG is.

 

And to ignore the fact that a 40% shooter from 3 is not getting other big-time offers is simply foolish.

I never said he would be our PG next year. I think he can come in and contribute yes, but I don't think he is the answer, not by a longshot. I believe his presence and toughness and shooting ability may be invaluable down the road also. I like the pick up, you dont. Simple as that.
