It's a 3 man race, and everyone has been pretty impressive so far. Masset had a bad outing his first time out, but rebound nicely his last start. Owings with another great outing today against the Blue Jays. He pitched 4 innings, allowing only a hit and a walk, while striking out 6. Bailey has given up only 1 run in 8 innings pitched so far. Who comes out the winner?

Owings.

Masset but probably not for the reason we want him to. He is the only one without options.

Owings did a lot today to help his chances plus his bat is a huge plus. He could be used to pinch hit late in games.

Pitched 4 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk, and struck out 6. He has 12 strikeouts in 10 2/3 innings.

It seems like I read that somewhere. :sssh::lol:

Masset can still pitch out of the bullpen. If they all continue to pitch well I think Bailey will get the job, with Masset going to the bullpen. I wouldn't rule out a trade of Arroyo either, so two out of the three make the rotation. It would be a good problem to have.

I think Bailey will get the job. I wouldn't be surprised if Owings got it though.

It is a great problem to have. Maybe get Harang a couple 6 days of rest between starts.

Did you edit that or did I just miss it?:idunno:

Is this the first time in 30 years there has been a competition for it?

It might be, but competition is a great thing for a team with young players like this one.

You missed it.

I think - and hope - Owings gets this job. I am very impressed with him.

I agree. I like Owings especially if he can get in there and use his wood for what it was made for, and that's not bunting.
