Thanks for the condolensces from all of our friends on here. Best of luck to those of you still playing! Good news is the sun came up (although behind a few clouds) this morning. IMO, this really hurts the seniors that only play basketball the most. They are going to have to chew on this for a long time.

 

Did it not hurt the kids who play other sports as much?

Just returned from the game and still am shocked. I thought about the best way to post my feelings and I am going to leave some things out so I do not offend anyone but here goes.

 

First off I want to say I am very proud of our boys they never gave up and played their hardest. To the seniors thank you for the great basketball the last two years its been great. Barrett Meyer you are what FC basketball is all about, Andy Donovan great career I wish you the best at the next level, Deron Hicks thank you for always playing your hardest and battling in the paint, and Ryan Conner you are a beast son good luck during baseball drop some bombs this year.

 

Now, I dont know how many people on here are from Frankfort but I am. When I was little all I wanted to do was play ball at FCHS for Coach Gary Moore, and when I got in high school I did, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. When you grow up on the east side of Frankfort and you play basketball FC basketball is your life. I think somewhere people forgot about that. Its time for people to take pride in the program and want to win, and play to win instead of not to lose. I know the boys gave it their all and wanted to win after that I have nothing else to say about playing to win instead of not to lose. I love FC basketball it means something to me to say yeah I played at FC I am proud to be a Flyer. Right now I am really upset but not at the kids, not at all the kids were great all year.

 

Congrats to Lafayette, good luck the rest of the way.

 

So are you upset with the coaching? I'm not quite sure what you're getting at but remember, the one thing about playoff time is that the best team on paper doesn't always win.

I was very impressed with Lafayette's coach. I sat right behind their bench and watched him all night. He consulted his assistants a lot and coached a good game. I know the best team on paper does not always win.

So you are saying Coach Chalk played to not lose? And didn't consult wit his coaches.

 

Bottom line the Generals wanted it more and out perfromed the Flyers. Last night the Generals deserved to win.

 

As for the coach anytime you are tire of having him around you can snd him back down town.

No. Very doubtful IMO. And that doesn't mean it did not mean anything to them or they gave less than 100% effort. Those that go right into baseball, get to concentrate on something else right away. The guys going to play football in college start working on that most likely. The guys that don't need to find something else (productive) to get into.

I didnt say anything in any post about Coach Chalk. You can try and read into things all you want to and have whatever opinion you want to have. As far as what goes on downtown that is none of buisness or concern. I think the Panthers have a very qualified coach and they showed signs of improvement all year long. My response to the post was to show that I understood that the best team on paper does not always win, nothing was said about Coach Chalk only about Lafayette's coach who I thought had a good game plan last night.

An intense game the whole way through. Franklin Co got off to a 7-0 run but never took it home. I have nothing bad to say about Franklin Co. And hats off to the Generals.

 

On a bad note, I did stay after the game a little while and noticed some poorsportsmanship. Lafayette fans came over to the Franklin Co side and started talking smack. Is this really needed? I'm not saying that Franklin Co didn't say anything back, because their student section did. But the adults from Frankfort kept their mouths shut, unlike some of Lafayette's fans. It was really dissappointing to see this after a great upset. I now begin to question thier class, or lack there of.

I am an FCHS fan, but we have no room to talk about class especially our student section. We got to take our medicine when we lose cause we sure like to dish it out when we win.

Our student section could for sure use some of that medicine, and yes, some of our parents. But I've never seen "post game activities" like the one's demonstrated by the Lafayette fans, and of course, our studen section.
