Scott 71 St. Patrick 63

I will admit that I am a little biased towards Scott, but please do not bring the refs into the result of this game. St. Pat plays an aggressive full court man to man which results in legitimate fouls. Scott played a 3-2 or 2-3 zone throughout. St Pat shot a lot of jump shots which does not tend to draw a lot of fouls. I will never say that refs are perfect, but Scott played a great game and lead for 90% of the game. I always tell my daughter that the refs do not determine the final score. That is ultimately determined by the play of both teams. Congratulations again to the Lady Eagles on a great game. Congratulations to St. Pats on a great season.

Scott played and excellent game no doubt they played a lot better than the first meeting, with different girls stepping up and making big shots. But if you don't think the refs had anything to do with the outcome then we must not have been at the same game. Pfeffer got her head taken off on a rebound when we were down 3 pts and nothing was called and the 5th foul on Klee was less than a touch foul maybe a breath foul. No doubt St Pat not making there free throws or jump shots had a lot to do with it, but yes the refs did help determine that outcome. I have not seen two of the refs (only know Hacksaw) before where are they from?

Sure would have been nice to see what the previous St. pat coach could have drawn up.

If you were at the game, which you apparently were not, you would know how bad it was. I agree you should be able to beat some bad calls but 9 fouls to 0 in the second half helped them build their lead. St. Pat got their fouls playing solid defense in the lane and getting called before their was any contact most of the time. I have watched girls basketball in Ohio and Kentucky. This was one of the worst officiated games I have seen in the last 6 years. I don' expect perfection but they should at least make an effort.

It is funny how people will bring this up after a loss. I didn't hear any of this when the girls won the district. On the other hand, I can't understand jerking out starters for over a whole quarter when they make one mistake. This happened several times this year (Clark County, Paris, and Scott were three big losses). It seemed like we were more worried about next year instead of concentrating on this year.

A big shout out to Ann Klee. Named to the All Tourney team. Just a hard worker all year long.

Its funny how when teams lose, their fans and parents want to blame officials. It happens all the time. Ive read it on here. Ledger Independent in Maysville reported that St. Pat never scored in the final 2:18 of the game. That probably contributed to the Saints demise. The paper also says St. Pats coach said they couldnt stop Tibbs, Scott brought alot more offense to this game, they hit a very good percentage of their shots, plus the Benzinger girl played really well.

Agree 100 percent with you. I have seen almost all of the Scott girls basketball games this season, and this by far was the best that they have played. It was not just one or 2 that stepped up, it was the whole team. If I am not mistaken Emily Davis had 14 for the evening, which might have been her highest scoring game all year. As well as Bethany Pelle, the point guard had at least 9 points, which is I believe, her second highest scoring game of the season.

I'm not blaming the officials. St. Patrick was not having their best game and Scott apparantly was having their best game of the season, according to chuckhayes. With that said, it is hard for a team to play defense when they are going to get fouls called for every little bump or touch. And there were bumps and touches on both ends of the court, (on a couple of occasions, more tnhan a bump or touchnot called) but it seemed the whistles only worked on one end. Could be it wasn't the refs fault. It may have been some unexplained natural phenomenon (possibly something associated with global warming) that kept the whistles from working near the St. Patrick goal.:D:D:D

I wish you would elaborate on that comment. What do you think the outcome would have been?

Honestly? Probably wouldn't have made it out of the district.

My question is simply this, why on earth would the former coach be brought out two years after the he was replaced and be debated about whether the Lady Saints would have advanced as far as they did this year. Players win games, the success the Lady Saints had this season should all revolve around group of kids that have played together for quite a while, played hard, smart, and together. Keep this about the kids.
