February 28, 200917 yr I just got done talking to my recruiter and started the enlistment process. Today I filled out my APPLE MD form and took the practice asvab test. I scored a 95 on that. Next Thursday I go to take the real asvab. After that I will have to go to MEPS and get sworn in after taking my physical. The physical and getting my medical waivers are going to be an interested process since my body has gone through hadies the past few years with sports. I will be leaving in the fall for Basic and AIT. Congratulations! Thank You...Sir!:thumb:
February 28, 200917 yr Author Thanks for all the words of encouragement and advice from current and former military personnel. Do you know where you'll be going for Basic and AIT? No I am not sure yet. I think I will end up at Ft. Lee for AIT but I do know not about Basic. What MOS are you trying for? I am leaning towards 92A at the moment.
April 16, 200917 yr Author Well I kind of wanted to give everyone an update. I took my ASVAB about a month ago and scored a 95 (same as my practice one). This past Monday I actually went down to MEPS in Louisville to enlist. I enlisted in 92F (Petroleum Supply Specialist) and will be shipping to Fort Knox on September 21st for basic training. After basic is completed I will be going to Fort Lee, Virginia for my AIT. Should be getting done early part of February.
April 16, 200917 yr Congrats and a big thanks for serving our country. What unit will you be attached to. A couple of my son's friends just got back from Afghanistan. They are with the 201st.
April 18, 200917 yr Good luck nkuclubbaseball19! I just joined the Army Reserves and I leave for Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri May 19th. I am really excited and hopefully we will both have great experiences in the service.
April 18, 200917 yr Good luck, my man! And, as everyone else has said, thank you in advance for your choice to help protect our freedom. I wish you nothing but the best.
April 18, 200917 yr 5.) It is a weapon, not a gun. 10.) Basic is only as bad or good as you make it. LOL "This is my weapon (point to the rifle), this is my gun (don't want to get suspended, so we'll move on). This is for killing and this is for fun" Can not agree more on number 10. I heard so many stories both good and bad before I went, I wasn't sure what to expect. It can be one of the best times of your life or it could be the worst. It's the choices YOU make that determine how it ends up.
