The Tigers were up 33-13 when the starters checked out. WC hit a couple late 3s to make it look closer than it really was. Of WC's 21 points, 14 came in the fourth quarter.

And I thought Holy Cross liked to slow the ball down...8-4 at halftime and 7 points heading in to the 4th quarter?!?! :eek:

I have never heard of such a low scoring half of only 12 points total. Must have been a hard game to watch.

8 to 4 at halftime is just about unheard of this day and time. Even if one team is trying to slow it down still would think that it would be more that 8 to 4.

The difference between Bardstown and Washington County is large. If Washington had played up and down all evening, there is no way they trail by four points at halftime. While you might not like the style and might also argue that slow-down hurts the game, you can't argue that it did what Washington County needed it to do - keep them in the game.

If you the coach of any 4-23 team in the state if they would be happy to trail a 20-8 team by four at halftime in a district tournament and they would say yes. Did it change the outcome this time? No. Were they still in the game? Yes. And it was their only chance to win.
