Not sure about in the 10th, but I know in the 9th juniors or seniors can win it. It usually goes to a senior though, unless a junior just has that big of a year. I'm not 100% sure, but I think Austin Hill of Holmes won it both his junior and senior year.

I think it will be between Brandon Rash and Russ Middleton. Both are very fine players.

Hatton is the most underrated player in the state. Some small college is really missing out on him. He is POY IMO

The KABC player of the year honor that is given out at the state tourney is for seniors only in every region. The winner and runner-up in each region are invited to play in the KABC East-West All-Star game that is played at Transy between the state semis and finals on championship Saturday.

Someone in a previous post talked about the award given out at Rupp Arena. that is what I referenced.

I started the thread just wondering who you think who the overall top player this year in the 10th was not just seniors. I think Stenzel was POY in the 10th in all grades but if we are talking seniors only then I believe Hatton was the POY.

According to the link that was given Vories won it in 2006, which would have been Hill's junior year.

From what I've seen , Russ Middleton gets the award.
