Plato Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Which teams have records that would have made them the 2 seed in their district tournament, but because the district draws - drew the #1 seed? (It usually happens to Madison Southern as they Draw Madison Central almost ever year, but I haven't seen this year's draw.)
The Scribe Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Hopkinsville and Christian County drew each other in the 8th District. They go to seeding next year

The Scribe Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 UHA drew Fort Campbell. Incredibly, Fort Campbell has never won a district title in boys basketball
westsider Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I believe the 1st Region is the only one where all four districts use seeding to determine the district tournament pairings. Fortunately, this kind of thing doesn't happen over here.
B-Ball-fan Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I'm not sure if they draw or seed in the 38th, but it looks like they probably draw because Pendleton Co. faces Harrison Co, and by looking at their district records, if they had seeded, Pendleton Co. would face Deming, with Harrison Co. facing Nicholas Co. In the case of the 38th, it looks like Pendleton got the short end of the stick.
gold sunrise Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 43rd District at Dunbar: Tates Creek vs Dunbar Winner will take on Lexington Catholic Lexington Christian vs Lafayette According to their records it would have been been the same only with Lexington Catholic taking on the Lexington Christian vs Lafayette winner. Looks like Tates Creek and Dunbar got the tuffest draw by not seeding. Both may not make it out of the district. All district parings are in yesterdays ( Sunday) Lexington Hearld.

Fortunately, this kind of thing doesn't happen over here. All four districts in the 12th Region seed. As do all four in the 4th Region. As has been discussed on here before, there's something to be said for giving the regular season some weight. Seeding is the way to go.
