In NKY, Riley hands down is the best shooter I've seen.

I didn't see the two Kentucky Allstar games with juniors vs seniors, but heard Joe B. Hall call Jenkins the most lethal shooter he's seen in Kentucky High School basketball when he lit it up in those two games. I would assume coach Hall knows a thing or two about sharpshooters from his days at UK.

I think that Fergusan is the best pure shooter in the state. He doesn't need to be hyped up because he has the stats to prove it and has consistently shot well for 5 years at the varsity level. The attribute he has that I think is extremely positive is that he is modest and very humble. If you compliment the kid he will always shake your hand, look you in the eye, and thank you for the compliment. I wish him nothing but the best in the future.

That is impressive and he has the freethrow shooting to back that up with 83%. I did find Ferguson and Hood on KHSAA these guys shoot only 73% FT. I know Hood gets alot of D on him he is 28% 3pointer, Ferguson 39%. What Ferguson does do good if my math is right is 69% in 2 pt FG %!

Very nice stats!!!!! Doesn't Riley get to school early in order to get shots up. Isn't this the first year he has started? If that is true you have to respect the kids persistence. I would guess he is also very humble.

The best I've seen Aaron Watts, Joe Ferguson, Jon Hood, Watts is the best shooter out of this group.

Riley's "weakness", if you want to call it that at 49%, is probably his mid range game. Outside, I'd put him up against anyone. IMO he's the best 3 PT SHOOTER in the state.

First year Riley has started but he's been putting up numbers like that all his life, from elementary, middle school, jv, and varsity ball to AAU. He is a very humble kid about his abilities and it shows, as he is in the gym EVERY morning an hour before school shooting to get better. From what I hear, he's also constantly playing pick up games outside of school at the local gyms to try and get better as well.

Riley hasn't attempted that many but he's 43/100 on 3 pointers. That's a little over half of what Ferg has on 104 less shots.....

 

Assuming you give him 100 more shots and he does what he's did all year, he'd be 86/200. All speculation, but still pretty impressive.

You sure about that? I know Pittman isn't a "shooter" but he is 56% from the field with over 200 attempts on the year. (144/259 FG...20/65 3 pt Fg)

 

Riley is also shooting above 40% with over 200 attempts. (100/204..49%)

No way you're leaving off the top pure shooter in the state in Jacob Jenkins. You can debate this a thousand different ways, but Jenkins is at the top of the list.

 

If you look at what I typed I said players I had seen in person this season. And to say point blank he is the best shooter in Ky is a little out there IMO. I am not saying hes not, but I definitly am not saying he is either.

Jenkins would definately fill the bill. It doesn't matter regardless of the gimmick defenses he has faced.

Meyer is very underrated around the state. I'd personally take him and Riley as my 3 point threats over ANYONE else in the state. Both can fill it up from outside. Could you imagine those two together? Riley running the point with Barrett at the 2? :eek:
