Omega Rhinos won their pool today at Hoops beating the D1 Louisville Legends in a thrilling 2OT game. I am pretty sure the Legends were missing a player or two but none the less a huge win for Omega. They also beat the Oldham Co. Colonels in their second game this afternoon..:ylsuper:

Omega Rhinos U11 beat the Floyd Co. Fever and the Lexington Panthers to advance to the finals at Hoops against D1 Higher Level.

At the BCI the 8th grade Wolfpack lost by 1 to the Avondale Bulls. Great game Wolfpack had the lead the whole 4th quarter until a pivotal no call on a charge took by a Wolfpack player....that basket put the Bulls up by 1. Ref's were letting them play.

 

See bold. Understatement of the year. LOL

I heard the Wolfpack U12 (Moeves) will be playing DC Nuggets(U13, I believe) on Saturday at the BCI. Should be a good game to watch.

The U12 Wolfpack have played (last year) and scrimmaged (this year) the U13 Wolfpack. It's usually a 20 point difference, but they get the advantage of being "beat" on by the stronger and older squad. I expect the U12 Wolfpack to win by at least 5, maybe 10 points.

The NKY Warriors 14U played and defeated the NKY Wildcats 13U today by 15. Wildcats have a nice group of players who all have very good offensive skills. I recognized one of their players being a Big from Gray.

 

Who else is on this team? Another boy named Drew who could stroke it from 15ft very nicely.

This was the best that Omega has played this year. They are peaking at the right time with state only 3 weeks away. I heard a rumor that there are 45 teams signed up for U11 state already. That will be a fun weekend at KBA.

The KBA website has been focused on the state middle school tournaments. Now that those are over, I would expect their website to have the AAU teams listed very soon.

I heard a rumor that the 13U KY Elite are playing up in the 14U division. Those should be some good games.

 

The 11U tourney is very strong with the Blaze, Omega, Panthers, Montgomery County, Mason County, NKY Suns and Bracken County.
