Who would have thought 5 years ago that the Menifee, Bath, Rowan, Fleming district would be so much stronger than the Ashland, Boyd, Rose Hill, Fairview district? Times they are a changing. :ohbrother:

Tell me Trublue why Biggs subs so much. I've never seen a coach sub so much. As soon as a player seems to be having a good game out they go. Whats your input on that?:popcorn:

 

Well I don't have a crystal ball to know why Coach Biggs subs players. One thought would be to keep fresh legs. I have noticed especially toward the end of games he takes Johnson and Delaney out when defense is needed and puts in Whetzel and Swift. then when offense comes around, back in they go.

 

I don't have a problem with subbing players just make sure the subs are up to the job. The kid they put in to play for Skaggs (although I didn't see the RC game I am judging from having watched JV) is not ready and may never be ready to take on the point. He doesn't see the floor and gets the ball stripped consistently and either refuses to pass it or doesn't see the open man. I have studied this in watching some JV games. If this is Ashland's hope for the future it will be longer than a couple of years to build this team back up. Also, the other kid they put in with him is slow and just doesn't seem to be much of a player. Again, judging from what I see on JV and this is just my opinion.

Thanks for all the kind words. I love Dickie Martin. I work with him during the State Tourney games and we have a blast. He is, in my opinion, the best play by play guy around. I am happy that some would lump my name in with his. I also think Jim Forrest is pretty solid! Believe it or not, radio guys appreciate a little recognition every now and then. We don't NEED it, because we do waht we do for the student athletes, but we do like it when you let us know we are appreciated!!

Really? Bath against Fairview, who do you take? Menifee against Rose Hill? RC just beat Ashland, and Fleming would take out Boyd. Rose Hill is the only team, IMO, that could consistently beat any of the 61st teams. I think overall the 61st is stronger.

Both Rowan and Ashland lost to Russell, not exactly a glowing review.

It is extremely hard to compare these two districts statistically, they have hardly played each other. Considering the bottom seeded teams in the 61st (if they seeded) are playing stronger going in, and you could argue that the top 3 in the 64th are limping somewhat at the end, I would argue for the 61st. No disrespect toward Boyd, but they would be quite an underdog against anyone.

 

That being said, it is still difficult to compare without much interdistrict play here.

Agree, especially when you consider that RC just beat Bath and Ashland won fairly big over RH.
