Nationally Jaimie ranks 11th which is an incredible accomplishment. This only accounts for High School seasons 9 thru 12:

Anybody know what's going on with number one on the list? With stats like that, I'm guessing she's doing at least decent at the collegiate level. Where is she playing at? And, how is she doing?

There are more good teams now in each reagion. It is really hard to go out and score 30 a nightbecause of the competitive balance. (epecially in the 9th)

 

IMO No one in KY will break Jamie's records.

3000 is a once in a 20 year thing.

 

3500 may not happen again.

Great story! Thanks for the link. If you made up a resume like that (50 ppg scorer, 4.0 GPA high school/college, law school/attorney, musically trained) I don't think people would believe it.

It doesn't say her dad made her shoot free throws. Just that he had keys to the gym. She sounds like the kind of player that would put in the extra work on her own. Amazing story.

Nelson Co. junior Samantha Drake, barring major injury, will break 3,000 relatively easily, and has a great shot at 3,500. She should finish the season with about 2,400 conservative, and perhaps a bit more if there's a deep run and a few big blow-up games left. She's had 40+ on a handful of occasions and is regularly around 28-30 ppg.

Jaime Walz, now Jaime Richey (head coach at Highlands) scored 4,948 points and was named the national player of the year as a senior at Highlands in 1996. Will anyone ever approach that record (which would require averaging 28 ppg for 30 games ........ for SIX YEARS!) I think it is worth noting, too, that she did that against the top competition in the state, and didn't load up on small outmanned schools.

 

That is a lot of points regardless of who you get them against or how:p many shot you take a game. Does anyone have any information on what her College Career was like and how many records she had there?
