UC looks to be playing their way in....

Featured Replies

I don't need to back track...if both teams continue to trend like they have been for the last week or so, it'll be stressfull on the last Sunday of the season.

If UK continues to trend like they have the last week it won't be stressful, we'll be getting ready for the NIT.

RPI is not a reliable indicator for seeding.

THey have been way off...there has been a shift over the last few years.

Protected seeds...dropping and raising one line for matchups and location.

There is a grand misconception regarding the RPI.

That is a post from LABS, with a thumbs up response from GT. Sorry, but I'll take what they say over what you do.

I think the lowest RPI to ever get an at large was a 74. I know it's not even close to the only factor, but it is one. I just wonder why you are so against it....

Uhh, that's not true. Despite my dislike for ND football, I enjoy their basketball team. They play an exciting brand of basketball and I really enjoyed watching them when they had Troy Murphy, Harold Swanagan, and a few other guys.

Also, what are you basing the "top 2 in the SEC" comment on? Notre Dame has lost something like 6 out of their last 8 games. Harangody puts up big numbers, but I've never been overly impressed with his ability.

Notre Dame has also played mostly ranked teams in those 8 games.....last I checked there aren't any ranked teams in the SEC.

Will you answer my question please?

FWIW, here are all of Notre Dame's wins:

USC Upstate, 94-58

@ Loyola Marymount, 65-54

Indiana, 88-50

#7 Texas 81-80

Furman, 93-61

South Dakota, 102-76

Boston University, 74-67

Delaware State, 88-50

@ Depaul, 92-82

#10 Georgetown 73-67

Seton Hall, 88-79

At this point in the season, I think Notre Dame is in serious danger of not making the NCAA tourney...

Pomeroy still has Kentucky at #30, even after the three straight L's. That's who LABS, who has forgotten more about UK basketball than I will ever know, likes as a barometer of where teams stand.

Cincinnati at #79, prior to tonight's game, the Irish at #49.

Not saying I agree, just saying.

Notre Dame will most likely lose their next 2 games also, playing @ UCLA and then against Louisville.

That'll be 8 losses in a row.

Take away the Texas game (and I realize you can't), and this is a pretty weak body of work. Right now UC has a better chance of getting to the dance than the Irish.

Their wins are tournament worthy IMO, their losses are not...

They need to win @ UCLA and get a couple more good wins and be at 8-10 in BEast, and they'll be in...

In all reality, I think UC's chances all season are going to be better than Notre Dame's. I think this stretch, coupled with their next two games, will be all she wrote for them.

They play @ UCLA, then Louisville, then South Florida (winnable game).

Then they play @ West Virginia (that'll be a good game), @ Providence (a winnable but tough game), Rutgers (they should win that), @ UConn (that'll be ugly), Villanova (another loss) and then St. John's.

If Notre Dame doesn't win the Big East tournament, I don't think they make the NCAA.

Their wins are tournament worthy? They have beaten Texas who is solid and a Georgetown team who is the 2nd most overrated team in the country behind...you guessed it, Notre Dame.

Will you answer my question please?

I alluded to it in my other answer, if ND were playing lesser competition, I believe that their record would be much better.

Alright guys, I have to go for now.....Duke is getting blasted.

They're not tournament worthy, I was wrong. I saw the #10 by G'Town and thought two top 10 wins were enough to get them in.

People like you think it is a major factor and that's simply not true.
