With new schools like Cooper, do they have the choice of scheduling JV games only and not initiating Varsity play for the first season?

Cooper's administration chose to field varsity, JV, and freshman teams this year and compete at all three levels because of the size of their school.

I guess everyone has to start somewhere.

I think it will actually help Cooper in the long run competing at the varsity level in all sports their first year.

Well if nothing else it will definately build charachter! I believe Henley will show class as usual. Not to get off the beaten path though, the only weakness I see Holmes having is the "appearance" of being disinterested in the first half of the game. They come back, but how many times before it becomes unattainable? I'm glad they keep it tight for their NKY counterparts! LOL! But when they go down state I don't want to see them "play with their food" (so to speak)

The second quarter hasn't been too kind to Holmes this year. Their last 5 or 6 games, it's been the second quarter that has allowed teams to stay in the game. It's like they get a lead in the first quarter and try to put it in cruise control, rather than continuing to work hard. Hopefully Henley has this worked out come March.

Well in their defense...it's because most of the time they can put it in cruise control. But one time it can come back to bite. Most of them were there last year so maybe they will re-direct themselves come tourney time.

Hopefully. It just seems like at times they play down to the level of lesser competition but against good teams seem to turn it on. Time will tell.

I agree, if notheing else playing on all 3 levels gets more kids on the floor and the more game experiance you have the better prepared you will be for the next season.

Exactly Ironlung I've asked since the start of this thread why there would be a poll added and Eta has still yet to respond.:idunno:

Because there has been a poll on every other Holmes games this year. Why woudln't you put one on this game? 28 people have voted for Cooper.

Do you actually think 28 people really think that Cooper will beat Holmes.

NO, this was their way of saying "this is a rediculous poll", I don't believe I would have started one for this game. I don't believe I would have even started a thread.

The #1 team in the state playing a 1-16 team??????? The outcome is obvious!

See post #15.

Thanks. I'm assuming it will still be at Holmes?

It will be tommorow at Holmes as of right now. Covington schools are already closed tommorow so I dunno for sure.

See post #15.

This thread was meant to be to talk about how a first year program like Cooper can benefit in the future from playing a game like this their first year.

It wasn't meant to discuss how bad the score is going to be, how many dunks Holmes is going to have, why EITHER TEAM would schedule a game like this, etc.

Each team has to play this game, so I was more wondering what everyone's thoughts were on how this game will help Cooper progress.

This is post #15 and you don't answer the question about why there is a poll at all...I understand the thread and that's fine, I never said anything about the thread. My only question is why would you put a poll???????
