Sean Casey - A Reds HOF'er?

Featured Replies

We're not talking Cooperstown here...but, with his retirement, was wondering his place in Reds' history. Where does he fit in with the rest of those that have been selected for the Reds Hall of Fame?

He spent 8 of his 12 years with Cincinnati, and finished (as a Red) with a .305 average, 256 doubles and 118 HR.

They're not Joe Morgan numbers...but there are a couple of people in there that they might compare to.

Thoughts?

He is in. Casey has a place in Reds history.

Good question.

Is Dunn?

Harang?

Graves?

Griffey?

Dunn, yes

Harang, maybe

Grave, no

Griffey, yes

Grave, no

Graves is #1 in saves and #5 in appearances. Sounds like Reds HOF to me.

I was getting ready to post that.

Graves not in and no Reds relief pitcher ever needs to be inducted.

He has more saves than John Franco?

Wow, in that case, put him in as well.

I think he has about 30 more than Franco.

I would say the "the Mayor" Sean Casey deserves a spot in the Reds H.O.F..

The fans will vote Casey in as well as Dunn, Griffey is a ??? No way the fans vote Graves in after telling a fan he was #1.

Correct me but it is a fan vote?

Griffey Jr. hit his 500th & 600th career Home Runs in a Reds uniform. I think you can call him a lock for the Reds HOF and the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown New York.

I don't think ??? applies to Junior. :sssh:

Is this a fan vote? I would vote for Junior. There are a lot of people who would not because they were not impressed with his statistics as a Red. If Junior had to rely on his Reds statistics he would not be a MLB Hall of Famer.

210 HRs as a Red gets him in.

He hit number 400 as a Red too.
