January 26, 200917 yr ^ I know what you mean. A lot of people say that. It's just one of those things for me. I am really scared of heights so I am sure that has a lot to do with it.
January 26, 200917 yr Terrified of roller coasters. When I was a young boy, my dad took me on the racer...backwards... Haven't been on one since, and I dont plan on it anytime soon.
January 26, 200917 yr They scare me but it's the type of scared I enjoy. I like roller coasters for the same reason I am a huge horror fan, I like being scared.
January 27, 200917 yr Top thrill dragster at Cedar Point. 0-120mph in 4 seconds, then it shoots you straight up 410 feet and back down. The ride last less then 15 seconds and it's worth every bit. When we went, it got stuck at the top for over a half an hour before it made it back down. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coasters/top_thrill_dragster/index.cfm G
January 27, 200917 yr I was kind of getting off topic in the Diamondback thread, so I figure I'd start a new one. Anyone else enjoy a good rollercoaster? I found my love for them around 7th grade in 2000. I quickly became an enthusiast and practically studied them. At one point and time I actually wanted to become a rollercoaster engineer. Anyone else have any favorite rollercoaster rides? At this point that is still what I want to do. There is just so little demand for this. If anyone knows someone in the industry I'd greatly appreciate any advice they could share on how to get my foot in the door.

It seems like the type of profession where you just have to make you own name. I'm sure it's very tough to get into. Good luck :thumb:

They get the most praise as far as Rollercoaster companies go.
January 27, 200917 yr I'd recommend getting in touch with someone from B&M or Intamin AG. They get the most praise as far as Rollercoaster companies go. Good idea. I assume you need some type of engineering degree. I'd say one of the above companies could give you an idea of what type of education you need and possibly an internship or something of that sort later down the road.
January 27, 200917 yr Hope these help you. B&M Intamin Here's a list of a few roller coasters manufacturers and their web sites Rollercoaster
