Dixie has picked it up. They need to make their free throws!! Coach Schlarman gets the best from his team..very intense with his players. He is a good coach with good players.

Great win Highlands! The Colonels made a good run and have been improving very much this season. They have a very young team with a lot of potential.

Franlin County played Dixie Hieghts a week ago Saturday after getting clocked by Holmes. I could tell they are a young team, and indeed they are very well coached. FC did not play well 1st half but picked it up to win by 13. Based on how Dixie has played since, it is looking like that wasn't a bad win for FC, especially being shorthanded.

Nice tournament for the Birds. Very nice wins over Campbell Co, Conner and Dixie in the finals.

Dixie seems to be playing very well lately.

I didn't see this one being this close. Has Dixie really turned it on or has Highlands taken the foot off the gas. Struggled with Dixie, Campbell Co., and lost to Beechwood in 3 of the last 4. I think they are number 2 or 3 in N.Ky but they don't have that killer instinct. They are letting teams hang around or beat them.

 

How good is Dixie really, are they really coming on? They have played close to Highlands twice and they beat Scott but they are 9-9 with no real big wins. I think Highlands beating them by 3 is more of a let down from highlands than dixie turning the corner.

Dixie is coming on. They are 7-3 in their last ten games. Their young players are growing up fast.

I have not seen Highlands play this season, so I can't give a first hand opinion. But, if what you say is true, is it just a matter of a coach sticking to a certain style of play, no matter what, rather than adjusting to his personnel.

:ohbrother: Last I checked Campbell Co is a very good team as well as Beechwood. Dixie is one of the hottest teams in NKY at this time and playing on desire and momentum certainly not experience or talent.

 

If you think Highlands is supposed to blow teams out everytime they play you are mistaken. They typically score between 45-60 points and when they win they win by 4 or 5 baskets. A win is a win and if you look at the last 11 games I believe they have only lost once and that was to Beechwood in OT on the road without Grubbs. Winning is the bottom line and they are doing it much more than losing.

What's that old saying: winning ugly beats losing pretty every time. I think Willie subscribes to that theory and as long as we keep winning, I like his theory.
