January 23, 200917 yr Thanks all. Looks like I'll be here all night without food. Don't know if you're a fan of MickeyD's or not, but the one here in Maysville has a Big Mac value meal special for $3.50. It really hit the spot at lunchtime. Oh, sorry.
January 23, 200917 yr Author You guys that are mentioning food provide the worst moral support ever. Almost worse the OYYT who offered to bring me food and back out completely.

Well that makes me feel good mcpapa. :thumb: No I haven't. I'm still waiting to see my first doctor of the day and you can bet that will be one of the things I ask him.
January 23, 200917 yr My guess would be that they want your tonsils to begin to heal. Eating will further irritate them. I bet they let you start fluids today. Remember, milk shakes are fluids:thumb:
January 23, 200917 yr Author I probably shouldn't tell them that I had applesauce snuck in last night. No irritation.
January 23, 200917 yr I must have grown up just as the transition was happening. I was 20 years old (summer before my senior year in college) when I had my tonsils out. I'd had a HORRIBLE spring semester with tonsilitis, 2 viral throat infections and strep throat. I was PROUD of the 1.4 I got that semester let me tell ya!!!! After that, I had a convo with my doc about surgery and he tried every way possible to convince me not to do it. After surgery, my doctor told me that I had quarter sized holes in the back of each tonsil!!!! But anyway . . . after I got my tonsils out it was AMAZING how much better I felt. Needless to say . . . the following spring, this same doctor was calling me (at college) asking me to have a conversation with my younger brother as his tonsils were as bad as mine! I hope things are going well for you. Hold your ground!! Doctors can only advise you but ultimately your medical care is your decision. Only you know how you feel! :ylsuper: Was the applesause good?? :thumb:

Even better was the pancakes, eggs, and  they brought mr. :dancingpa:dancingpa Now to get them to bring me more since that was but a tease.
January 23, 200917 yr Keep us posted!! I hope your thanking your parents for sneaking the food in! I have never regretted my decision. I didn't realize I felt so badly until those germs didn't have a port to ride out the antibiotic storm !!:ylsuper:
January 23, 200917 yr Wow. I am so sorry to hear this. I have never heard of cutting your tonsils before! I don't think I would eat anything until the Doc said it was alright. It might cause an infection or make them worse. Hang in there and keep us updated.
January 23, 200917 yr Author Quick Update My blood specialist just came in and said that my tests show no signs of any major problems. She was going to go ahead and sign off on my release but now I think I have to wait for the first doc to come back around and sign it too. The fact that I kept bleeding my have came from me taking a dose of advil the night before. Hopefully I'll have more soon.

January 23, 200917 yr Author So is it just going to heal itself? Well I think the cut is pretty much sealed off as it hasn't bled since 2pm yesterday. Hears to hoping it stays that way.
