Simply fantastic win over a great program with a great coach. Great job young ladies. Go Birds!

Other than a picture there wasn't many details in the paper.

Birds were led by Bekah Towles 18 pts. and 12 rebs. They held Boone's Bradley to just 5 pts. Great win on the road for Highlands.

I thought Boone's guards did a great job keeping both Allen and Conner from getting in the double digits. Hats off to Towels, great job in the paint! Boone may have had a chance if Birds bench wasn't so deep! Great job Birds!

Hope your wrong. Coach Richey has done a fantastic job building the LadyBirds program. They will be major players in the 9th region for quite a few years.:thumb:

Just out of curiosity, what has Jamie done to build the program? You either have the players or you do not, it is as simple as that IMO. It is great to see this team playing to their expectations and hopefully they can continue this run up through the regional finals. If I recall correctly, their only loss is to Manual whom I believe is currently ranked # 1 in the state.

Sorry folks, but with all the hype I expected a “whole” lot more.

 

The Bird’s got by a depleted ND team and hit 26 free throws, they slipped passed NCC at home, and a depleted Boone team was right with them or leading until late in the game. They won, but late free throws made the score look very deceiving.

 

Unfortunately, a great season record means “zero” in a few weeks. With the pressure of one-n-done (remember last year), the 9th region tourney is “completely” wide open. Lastly, if I’m a Bird’s fan, I would be very nervous about drawing NCC in the first round of the district tourney…at their house!

It's true she only scored 5pts, but it certainly wasn't due to the stifling defense of Highlands.
