For Elliot County to make a deep run in the State tournament,I think he could have a lot to do with that!!

 

He is the X factor with how deep a run they make. Against a quality opponent like Holmes or Scott County he must show up and stay out of foul trouble which has always haunted him. Must he get 25 points?? No Maybe something like 16-19 pts. and 8-10 rebounds. If he doesn't show up in a big game and gets 7 pts. and 5 rebounds I can't see EC getting deep into Saturday play in Rupp.

He put up good numbers at Myrtle Beach. He'll be just fine.

He is a very talented sophomore. You should expect some off nights. Especially in games that are well under control. Im sure this will not be the last one. He has showed up big time in the ones he has been needed so far. I wouldn't worry about him.

Hope your right. I really like the young man. But sometimes he makes a bad play or bad foul and gets down on himself and drops his head and then disappears for only Timmy knows how long. He can't do that against a Top 5 opponent. Like I said, Timmy is a nice young man with a tremendous upside, but he has to mentally focus and stay in the game for 32 minutes and play smart basketball. The seniors are good mentors for him with their experience and 110% all out effort and focus. He still is maturing as a young player.

Correct--I am certainly not knocking him. The young man is an outstanding talent and his growth and continued improvement is the key to EC's post season play. I am one of Timmy Knipp's biggest fans. Nice young man with a ton of talent. I just want him to continue to grow/improve and get every ounce out of his God given ability.

 

I believe he will in the coming weeks, months, and years ............................................young man has a very bright future.

I grad. from Elliott County in 1981, enlisted in the Army in March 1982. Last unit I was Stationed in was in Chicago IL. I retired in April 2003. So I stayed in Chicago. I have over the years followed the Elliott Co. Lions and will continue to do so. I also officiate Basketball game here in Illinios So my Winter, Spring and Summer schedule stays busy.

So Yes this Elliott County vs Lewis County game was my first time seeing Elliott County play in person since March 1982 when Elliott Co. lost to Boyd County in the first round of the regional tournament.

Just wondered ,as you seem to be knowledgable of Elliott Co. basketball.
