Here's a lolipop question to start with.

No Cheating

Since the Associated Press began awarding the Most Valuable Player award in 1957, only 3 times has the award not been given to a Running Back or Quarterback. Who were those three players and what positions did they play?

I'm much better at creating trivia questions then answering them (although some would argue that I'm no good at neither) but I'll take a shot:

Lawrence Taylor, LB

Jerry Rice, WR

Steve Largent, WR

Lawerence Taylor won the award at Linebacker in 1986 while playing for the Giants, Alan Page won at Defensive Tackle in 1971 while playing for the Minnesota Vikings and Mark Moesley, a placekicker won the award in 1982 for the Redskins.

Moesley won the award in 1982 during a strike shortened season.

I'm doing some research on another trivia question pertaining to the NFL MVP and should have it up tonight. Nice work malachai and cc.

Ok, I did a little research on this one and I think it's a tricky one. Since 1957 when the Associated Press began awarding the NFL's Most Valuable Player award, players from 27 different universities have won the award. Notre Dame leads the way with 4 different players to win the award.

Name the other 7 schools that have had multiple winners.

Remember, no cheating. I'll give some hints after the guesses start coming.

Paul Horning, Joe Theisman, Joe Montana. Who is the 4th?

Southern Cal with O.J. Simpson and Marcus Allen.

I would think Bama has to be on the list but other than Shaun Alexander, I can't give you a name.

Does Tennesse count? Payton has multiple awards on his own.

What about Michigan? Surely some Wolvereen other than Brady has won the award.

The fourth is Alan Page, defensive tackle.

Multiple award winners do not count, that's all I will say.
