The Nelson County 189 was in the finals. During the finals match he didn't look bad...but ended up getting pinned by the kid from John Hardin (I believe off of a throw). I can't help you as much with that one.

Duals and Individual tournaments are completely different.

I'm sure they are, but nonetheless some of the top wrestlers on these two teams still hooked up and Ryle did very well. If nothing else, Ryle certainly seems to be peaking at the right time.

Facilities is one of the biggest problems, Franklin County Has none, with no plans to get any they wrestle in a garage.

Ryle is certainly a good team. They have great coaches and good program all around. They should be in the hunt for the foreseeable future.

In Region 1 next year Trigg County and Henderson County will be coming back. Marshall County is looking for a coach and the new McCracken County High School is as well. So, while talk on this site is minimal, interest in the sport is growing.

Why don't you encourage people at the Wrestling Meets to join BGP. They would have a great opportunity to spread the word about the sport, and to get feedback on wrestling topics.

Although, the HS numbers are rising slowly, the interest is improving. However, the number of youth programs and MS programs has risen dramatically over the past 5 years, thus putting more pressure on the HS level.

A few years ago, there were 250ish entries at the "Yohuth State Tournament", the next year it doubled, sanctions and bylaws were put in place. Last year, around 750 entries in po dunk eastern KY. I am unsure of the final numbers but I heard the estimated numbers were pushing 1,000.
