I totally agree with you about the refs but the comment about the subs getting them back into the game?!? I am not for sure what you saw but there is absolutely no reason that McCloud should be in the game and Cinnamon on the bench. Cinnamon is their 2nd best player this year and a future stud (if he keeps working on his game) and should not be out of the game in favor of 2 (McCloud and Yeast) football players who happen to play basketball.

 

What I saw was that Compton and Yeast played good defense and their hustle created several turnovers and contributed to Mercer taking the lead in the 4th quarter. I agree that substitution patterns have been a problem for Mercer all year but that didn't just begin with Tatum. As for McCloud, he is athletic and getting better every game. He and Cinnamon don't even play the same position. McCloud = point guard, Cinnamon = shooting guard .

Mercer's is close to 1,000; Burgin's is close to 150.

My graduating class at BHS was 26 and every graduating class is between 20-30 students. K-12 is all in one building with something like 350 students in those 13 grades.

 

Burgin off to a good start with a record of 8-1. Long live the little school where you know all your classmates and you are a person and not just a number.

Burgin could be a dark horse in the 12th region this year. Always nice to see the little guys sneek up and win one, but from last year maby not that big of a upset.

At the corner of Hwy. 33 and 152 in Mercer County. It's about five miles east of Harrodsburg and probably 10 miles north of Danville. You can continue east on 152 from Burgin and get to Lake Herrington and then into northern Garrard County.

Burgin has a nice team. Saw them scrimmage Wayne at the first of the year and they are solid. Dont take them lightly or your outcome will be like Mercers.

IMO, there were two different calls that had a major impact on the game. The charging call on Taylor with a minute and change to go was terrible. The kid was on skates, and when contact was made he flopped. The other call was when Cinnamon was called for traveling after the pass had already been made.

Both of these two kids have played basketball their entire life. They are not ''football players'' they are athletes who contribute to the basketball progam.

No excuses with me. The truth is that Mercer played a kid who had hardly played much this year in favor of their 2nd best player and that the refs made 3 critical incorrect calls in the last minute of the game. Quit hiding out at Corning and go to the games. At that point you can make your own analysis about what happened.

Your right about Cinnamon and McCloud. However, McCray and Dedmon can both bring the ball up the court.

I was also very impressed with Compton's performance. I really never saw that coming. His hustle was definately a major factor in Mercer's comeback. I hope to see more of him in the future.

When mccloud came into the game in the 2nd half he hit two crucial threes that helped Mercer make a run. So im not sure how you can say he shouldnt be playing. He is a good ball handler and has good shooting ability which Mercer needed because no one else was hitting anything.

Granted, he did hit one big 3 pointer but I think that it is fair to say that he was around 2 for 6 from 3 point land and had at least 3 turnovers. Question is this: Who would you rather have on the court, McCloud or Cinnamon? Cinnamon is 6'3, a better shooter, driver and rebounder. McCloud is 5'7 and maybe handles the ball better but does put out maximum effort.

By the way, I am not saying that he shouldn't be playing but he shouldn't be jacking up shots like DeAndre Liggins and playing in front of Cinnamon.
