Heard they will announce new coach this Sunday, after he talks to the players. Don't have a name but with the superintendent making the calls there is no tell who she has hired.

The AD is Ms. Johnson, and does a great job at Bourbon from what I have been told. She may not pick the next coach but I feel she will have some imput.

 

She came back and now is the Asst AD, Sosby is the AD, both have done a great job at BO CO, and both supported Massie and voted to keep Massie

I heard Johnny Poynter's name come up a few times from Trimble County. Could someone please tell me but don't you have to at least post the job for 30 days? Maybe I'm wrong on that.

I am not close to the program at all but it looked like he was doing a lot better than what Bourban has had in awhile.

I am not 100% sure but I believe the only time you have to post for 30 days if there is a teaching opening connected with the coaching opening. Since Coach Massie will more than likely stay as a teacher, then they can hire a coach and create a position for them. Someone please correct me if I am off track with this. Thanks

The new coach, whoever that may be, needs to understand that Massie, Dalhstrom, Chuke Wiiliams and Dudley all got ousted by parents and in most cases the superintendent ... so how can the new coach believe anything Bourbon tells them about the job. Or they going to say, we will back you and support you ... Yeah Right, heard that before!

My understanding is that all Fall Sports Coaching positions @ BO CO were posted on Dec. 8th, still not 30 days. That's how the bunch works, they tell Massie they would let him know in Jan after he went to them after the Lex Cath game, so then they go and post the job and hire Poynter before firing Massie. What a classless Admin.

Johnny Poynter coached at Bourbon County with Dudley Hilton I believe but did not play there. Isn't Coach Poynter from Estill Co? I have heard he would like to get closer to Central KY/home.

If this is the case, why would Poynter even want the job? I wonder what the superintendent promise him that she eventaully will not keep once parents stop supporting him!

I thought you meant Poynter and had put he coached there at D-coordinator on the State Championship team, but played at Rockcastle County. I then re-read your post and understood that you meant Massey.
