January 2, 200917 yr Who are Ockerman's guards? Would I be familiar with either of them? You would not know Ockerman's guards. They have 3 decent guards 2 that play on the Buckeye's AAU team and 1 for the Lucky Dogs. Dalton is much better but Ockerman's guards are just good enough to get it to Brendan.
January 2, 200917 yr Noah is huge for his age.. I haven't seen much this year but he is a player. I believe Noah is about 5'8". Very good dribbler and slasher. If he plays guard is a major mismatch.
January 2, 200917 yr My little brother plays on Ockerman's team and from what Ive seen they're going to have to play pretty bad to get beat. Besides Brendan and the few decent point gaurds they also have another banger down low(KJ, not sure on last name) who could be something special. Thankfully their coach plays the whole bench because in a couple of the games I saw things could have been real ugly.
January 3, 200917 yr Author I doubt they have seen the full court pressure that they will see at the middle school state. Hope the big boy can dribble as well. Most of the good teams will full court pressure the entire game, that's why I ask about the guard play.

The tougher AAU teams...Omega & Wolfpack have put lots of pressure on them in the past and have produced turnovers.
January 3, 200917 yr Author Here is a list of the teams entered into the 6th grade middle school state tournament so far. Estill Co. Eversole #1 Eversole #2 Northern Middle South Laurel Grant Co. Scott Co Clinton Co. Mason Co. JCTMS North Oldham Campbell Co. No Friday games will be played this year, it's all on Saturday and Sunday.
January 5, 200917 yr Author Wayne County defeated South Laurel twice this weekend ending their undefeated season but one game was a 2 point victory so South looks like they have really improved and will be a force in the state tournament. Wayne is definitely the team to beat.
January 5, 200917 yr Hacker Elementary out of Clay COunty looked very good this weekend. I don't know if they will go to state, but they have to be the best team in eastern Ky.
January 6, 200917 yr Author Top teams in the 6th grade that I am familiar with. Wayne County, Lincoln County, Clinton County, South Laurel, Hacker, Monroe County, Scott County, and Elliott County.
January 6, 200917 yr Top teams in the 6th grade that I am familiar with. Wayne County, Lincoln County, Clinton County, South Laurel, Hacker, Monroe County, Scott County, and Elliott County. I would love to say differently, but Scott County will be no threat in the 6th grade state.
January 7, 200917 yr Author Does the football coach's kid not attend Scott County? He can play! By himself he can make them a team capable of beating some good teams. There are very few big kids that can play in the 6th grade right now in Kentucky.

I agree, if he was at Scott County that would make a world of difference as SC lacks an inside presence.
January 7, 200917 yr Lincoln Co. beat Meece last night. Wore them down with the pressure. One of the Lincoln Co. coaches told me that West Jessamine has a good team. He said they have two really big kids that are athletic. He said Lincoln only beat them by 4.

Sounds like it could be a long night for SC in 6th if they have good big kids.
January 8, 200917 yr Author We (Clinton County) played West and won by 6-10 in the LCA tourney. I didn't think we played very well, I feel a little better now. The two big kids CAN play but overall I am very suprised that Lincoln only won by 4. 6th grade kids can really be up and down.
