I'm not buying into "it's the coach's fault.'' I would be happy to have either Baker coaching for me. Is there something going on within the team, or just poor play?

With the gameplans that the coaching staff has showed this year so far everyone is wondering what they are doing. In no way does Fairview have anywhere near the team that East is capable of having. Its like when Charles was coaching at East years ago. Everybody has to do exactly what he wants and all the players are afraid to do anything else. LET THEM PLAY!!

 

 

Poor coaching is what has happened to the Raiders!

 

 

It is so easy for the "bleacher coach/fan" to blame it on the coaching staff for a loss. Its always on the players if they win, coaches if they lose.

 

After watching the first two rounds of the AIT, its apparent that the Raiders are suffering from a lack of leadership and execution. The number of unforced turnovers and hesitance on passing and wanting the basketball have cost the Raiders in their previous two games.

 

The Raiders would greatly benefit for their guards to become more aggressive and involved in the offense, as well as their post players to become more aggressive as well and demand the basketball, instead of hiding behind the defense.

 

There is no need for the panic and blame to be passed along so early in the season. A few more games and practices should allow for the Raiders and other teams with dissappointing starts to turn the season around.

 

And to say the coach staff is to blame is ridiculous. Look at the success that Charles and Brandon have had in the past and then compare that to what you or many others have accomplished in the coaching ranks and see where that stacks up. The Raiders have one of the best coaching staffs in the area.

Coach Rex Cooksey won this game for his Eagles. Fairview played a 1-3-1 zone for the last 3 quarters of the game and East couldn't adjust. To break down a zone, passing is key and it seems to me that the Raiders have not quite matured yet into that realization.

 

I don't think Baker got out coached, but it might've helped to switch up his defenses from "man to man" to a zone a time or two.

This sounds like a very poorly played game by East Carter. Also, the final score of 43-41 would indicate to me that Fairview worked a gameplan to absolute perfection and got their desired result on the scoreboard. I'm not really buying into the whole Baker is a bad coach argument, but this is a pretty tough loss.

I agree when you say that the guards need to become more aggressive and involved in the offense, but do not know how you can say that their post players hide behind the defense. Oh wait, I do agree he is probably hiding behind the defense because he has posted for five straight minutes without receiving the ball. The raiders need to develop a zone offense or they can forget about tournament action come March.

Well put 16th62nd. East will only be as good as their guard play. If they play well they can play with anyone. If they play the way they have so far this season they are just an average team.

For all the people who said there is a big drop off after 1 & 2 in the 16th can you say over rated.

The Raiders are loaded with talent this year and have just got off to a slow start. It looks likes a few of the Raider Nation fan base has pushed the panic button a little too early
