I beleive you have a solid case. If you have that many starers returning, and you were in the State Tourney, how can you not be ranked???

Should Harrison County be up at 4th after losing the ace that carried them? very far though of course!

 

I would say top 10. Has anyone seen HC's schedule this year? Looks like one of the tougher schedules around, especially in the 10th. They have Bullitt East, Lawrence County, Henry Clay, Scott County, Tates Creek, Lexington Catholic, Trinity, South Laurel. Looks like Coach Whitaker is getting the Breds ready for another run at the state tournament.

6. Manual (can hit it with anyone)

7. Trinity (maybe best young left arm and solid SS)

8. Apollo (talented young group, can they get out more balanced district?)

9. LCA (return 8 starters.....do not have deep pitching)

10. Lawrence County (returns states best arm in Shephard?)

11. Western Hills ( best year for Frankfort baseball in sometime)

12. Male (can swing the stick, will they have arms to make run)

13. Bowling Green (If I remember, return some quality arms)

14. Franklin County (could make some noise this year)

15. Central Hardin (Good run in 08 and have experience coming back)

16. Bryan Station (have some exp. / talented arms, can they hit and field?)

17. Covington Catholic (probably should be higher/led by UK signee Maile)

18. West Jessamine (core group has been starting for awhile,will miss Greene)

19. St. X( always talented, will rely on younger team)

20. Danville (overachieved in 08, but returns majority of team)

21. Ballard( should end up higher ranked....McCombs and catcher are back)

22. Rockcastle Co. (Can anyone other than Perkins step up?)

23. Anderson Co. (several starters return for the returning 8 Region Champs)

24. Boyd Co. (will new coach = trip to Lexington)

25. Ballard Memorial (region 1 contenders with talented arms)

Thank you. I was thinking LCA might have meant Louisville Christian Academy since they made it to Applebee's last year. Why isn't Lou CA in the top 25? They hardly lost anyone from last year.

Wonder how they finished 15th, when they were in the final 8 teams at Applebees? Worst case scenario is they were Ranked 8th.

Harrison returns all but one posistion player. They did lose their ace but they also return two starters from last year that also won some valuble games. They should be a junior dominated team and fun to watch as they grow into some great ball players.

If having a good season record and no making it out of the regionals make the school happy, then yeah, but most teams bank their season on getting out of the Regionals.

 

I would love to see East have a good year. They have some quality kids, they just seem to choke win the time matters.

Greenup has 2 straight state tourney apperances and arent in the top 25? give me a break guys.

Where is Lex Cath and Paul Dunbar? Are you saying that Tates Crk, Western Hills and Franklin Co are the teams to watch in the 11th region? How could they be favored over LC and PD... Tates Crk will be very good but may not make it out of the district AGAIN. Woodford County has the best pitcher in the region in Sherrow. They could upset either of the Frankfort teams with him on the mound.

I would add Estill Co and Henry Clay to that list as sleepers. Another sleeper is Clark Co.

I agree with Estill being a sleeper, solid program with a good coach. Boyd is loaded with Sophomore talent, but could be a year away. I would put Greenup at the top, then Ashland, Boyd, and East Carter bunched together at the next level. Farview could be a sleeper. The 16th isn't particularly strong at the moment. I do believe the coaching change will do a world of good for Boyd, they were declining.
