Championship game in the Defenders of the Station Classic at Bryan Station. Game will be played at 9:00 Tuesday night.

 

According to Frake's (?) rankings, this is #1 v #2 in the state.

 

Bryan Station is the only team to knock Holmes off this year and since then it seems as if Holmes is a completely different team defensively.

 

Thoughts? Predictions?

I like what Holmes has done since the first meeting. If what they did tonight is any indication, I think they have proven to be a focussed team.

 

(Sorry Eta Rho- you know how my picks go) I'm taking Holmes in their chance to take the #1 ranking in the state by the score of 72-64.

I think Holmes wins this one too. The way they're playing as a TEAM right now defensively is why they've had so much success. BS two big men were non factors in the first meeting and it looks as if J. Johnson and Pittman have improved their play.

 

I also don't see Morones and Ashford going off for 61 combined points again either. Those two carried BS in the first game. Expect too see Holmes apply a lot of pressure to those two and force the bigs down low to beat them.

Will be a good match up. Holmes has a chip on it's shoulder and Station is playing at home. Toss up, agree with previous posters, if Station is shooting well, don't think they will be beat. Would love to see it....

Adams and Blackburn (6'7 350) were held to a combined 4 points in the first match up. (2 each) Neither were a factor. The first game was a game of runs. Bryan Station jumped out early to a 33-22 lead, Holmes went on a 14-0 run to take the lead back and led 67-65 midway through the 4th before Morones and Ashford both caught fire and keyed a 21-5 run to close out the game.

 

Bryan Station's shooting was key for them in the first go around. They shot 51% from the field and were 11 for 16 from the 3 point line and 19-23 on free throws. Holmes shot 44% and were 30-39 from the free throw line.

Will somebody be able to give updates during the game?

Morones and Ashford are electric guards, whom obviousy gave Holmes fits last game. They won't combine for that total of points again, but I think they'll get a lot of help this game from Richardson.

Richardson had 16 first game....I'd say they got a lot of help out of him...

 

Station will have to shoot lights out like they did last game though if they are going to beat Holmes twice in as many weeks. Them shooting 11-16 from behind the arc was the only thing that kept them in the game. They were getting killed on the boards.

 

If it gets in to a defensive game, Holmes wins by 7-12. Station doesn't have anyone who can stop either Johnson brother or Pittman.

Yeah your right, Station needs to keep it high scoring to prevail.

Tough environment for Holmes to go into but I am taking the Bulldogs in a tight one.

I don't see Holmes losing again for awhile, if they play like they did in the first half of the SC game, they can beat anyone in the state by 15+.

Can someone confirm this game starts at 9pm and what are the times and matchups for the other games?
