December 22, 200817 yr Hunh? Where is there PROfessional football in Ohio???....:sssh: You have a valid argument.
December 22, 200817 yr The announcers on CBS kept saying that Cincinnati is the most injured team in the NFL. One reason why this season has been so disappointing. Injuries certainly had an impact, but I am concerned that excuse will be used to explain away too many of the woes affecting this team. This team fully healthy would not have been a .500 ballclub. They are looking at some serious issues regarding their offense for next season and you can be certain that the Bengals coaching staff and management will have no logical plan in place to address it. Two things: Mike Brown will use the injuries argument to justify minimal moves in the offseason. He has already tried it saying if only Carson was not injured and as Carson pointed out they were 0-4 with Carson at QB. Add in winning their last 3 games, I expect them to win the meaningless game against the Chiefs (the Bengals are Super Bowl champs of meaningless games) and Mike Brown will have all the ammo he needs to make no changes. Now the ONLY HOPE is Marvin Lewis. Mike Brown wants to keep him so bad that Marvin goes in and demands some changes and Mike gives into SOME, he won't give in to all, to keep Marvin from resigning.
December 22, 200817 yr I said it before and I'll say it again... the Bengals are bad.... the Browns are worse! I'm kind of glad the Benglas won't be tied up with number #1 pick money.
December 22, 200817 yr I think Marvin Lewis is gone. I heard a while back that he had turned in his resignation effective at the end of the season when Mike Brown brought Henry back. I can only hope so. Marvin Lewis isn't the biggest problem, but he has no control over the team & they have very little respect for him. It's time for a change there, at least. I realize that Mike Brown is the biggest problem, but this team has a lot more talent on it than 3 wins worth. It will be interesting to see what happens in the off season. I'd imagine TJ will get the franchise tag, and if Stacy Andrews has a torn ACL, maybe we'll be able to re-sign him.

I don't think Marvin is a very good coach but you have to admit the players are still putting out on the field. They could be like the Browns and quit completely. They need a good coach and if the past means anything we could end up with something worse than we have. Mike Browns choice of coaches is about as bad as his choice of players over the years.:thumb:
December 22, 200817 yr Opponents weren't the Browns all season:lol: So THAT's the key to success!
December 22, 200817 yr I really like Benson. Granted it was against the Browns, but I hope they resign him next season. He's played well enough as of late for him to not be a Bengal next season.:irked:

Why not bench Henry and force Mike Brown's hand?
December 22, 200817 yr Here's my thought on the Lewis rumor, if it's true. Why not bench Henry and force Mike Brown's hand? Henry really didn't play much early on. Then Glenn Holt got hurt & Antonio Chatman went down, so there's not many other options. Caldwell has been out & apparently Simpson just isn't ready.

This is kind of the reason I have my doubts about the rumor. Guess we'll see.

Guess we'll see. I have my doubts about it as well, but it seems like it could make sense. And, I doubt that Marvin Lewis has any control as to whether or not he's going to activate somebody.

Really?? So Mike Brown makes a decision as to whether a 3rd string QB is activated before a game? I would think the HC makes thoughs decisions.
