The going rate for an Orange Bowl 50 yard line ticket is $181, but it's probably up for negotiation. The rest of the tickets are selling for far below the face value of $130-$240 per seat. They could have very easily gone the cheap route (and I'm sure at least a thousand or so fans have) but the majority is supporting the university, paying $125 a ticket to sit with the other UC fans and help avoid a BCS financial disaster...

That will be easily covered by a booster and all is good. They also have all of the money raised to fund the new practice fields and indoor facility, and broke ground this morning...
December 20, 200817 yr Isn't this kinda what the NCAA and the BCS deserve? The National Championship is more mythical now then it ever was before the BCS. We don't really establish anything with it. All 1 loss teams and Utah deserve a chance to play for the title. I really like Cincinnati (mainly cause of Coach Kelly and Gutza) but they really aren't BCS material. And VT is even less. They are probably about the 3rd or 4th best team in the ACC. Georgia Tech is much better.

There's no way I'd pay a higher price for a ticket willingly. If I could get them significantly cheaper, I could care less about the BCS financial state...my financial state is more important.

The financial state of UC athletics is important to me, as it clearly is to the fan base as well. I'm getting in for free via a media pass, and still bought a ticket at $125 to do my part...
