Scott 54 Cov. Holy Cross 50 (OT)

Featured Replies

Scott forced them into turnovers early on with the press but Scotts turnovers were trying to force things and not being strong with the ball.

Maybe, but the same case could be made for Holy Cross as well with turnovers early and BAD free throw shooting late.

Exactly, Holy Cross played very bad in the 1st half. Like I said before if Shina is in there they probably win in regulation.

Not sure why Giwa sat the first four mintues of the game, but it may have cost the Indians in last nights contest. .

The story appears to be:

I think Giwa sat the first four minutes because of missing practice due to a college visit.
Not sure why Giwa sat the first four mintues of the game, but it may have cost the Indians in last nights contest. But I do have to admire a coach who has such convictions and sticks to his principles. Now for the players of Scott. As an observer this is what I can recount from the game. EJ: good job the entire game. Nick: lots of turnovers, his strength is cutting to the rim, not dribbling. Kellen: too many turnovers. I'm not sure he sees the floor as well as some think. He tries to feed the ball down low in heavy traffic when there is an open man on the wing. Possibly inexperience rearing it's ugly head. Daniel: good job, however he needs to get stronger, the ball was stripped out of his hands too often and too easily. Nikola: Did not play to his preseaon status of a top 10th region player. He needs to turn and shoot when in the paint, not put the ball on the floor. He was the biggest man on the floor and should have dominated down low. Keylo, Stefan and Andrew: nice job off the bench. They needed you in for a few more minutes, the starters once again got tired at the end.

Bottom line is that scott pulled out a victory on the road in a tough environment. They have 4 wins already compared to 8 regular season wins all of last year. I trust that coach carr puts the best players out there in a position that gives the team the best chance to succeed.

I think Kellen is a scrappy player, however as a young player he will make mistakes. I was just pointing out he may want to look on the wing to pass, he seems to try to throw it in to Daniel and Nikola alot. At least the games I've seen him in.

Don't understand why the bench is used a lot in the first half successfully and then hardly at all in the second half. I agree the starters look exhausted in the fourth and could use the break.

Coach Carr has to see this team is very self=centered. No inside passing. The two big kids post up always to never receive the ball. Scott needs to move the ball down low and kick it back out. All the players would benefit greatly. Anybody else observe this??:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Seems part of the team wants to move the ball around outside and inside, but they have bigger issues then that.

Keylo is the only one who could get any dribble penetration.
