I am looking forward to seeing how well the Steelers can handle the running game of the Titans.

My guess is that the rookie will pop a long run on them, but all in all, Pitt will keep them under a bill. My question is how well can the Steelers run on the Titans. Obviously, Albert and VDB out is a big deal. I think that the Steelers have to try to win the field position game and our punter sucks. As a matter of fact, saying he sucks is a slap in the face to punters who actually suck. He's worse than suck. Is there not a guy out there who can kick? I never thought I'd miss a punter as much as I miss Sepulveda. His return next season may be the biggest boost they will receive this off season.

Oh my gosh! I said the same thing to a buddy that was watching the game with me. I know there has to be a punter out there better than MB... Why Tomlin is not bringing in more punters every week is beyond me! :madman:

I agree with doc that I dont believe the titans will run on us. I dont know if we can run on the titans however. As much as he frustrates you doc , I believe Ben pulls us through (with a lot of help from our d)! ;)

The Titans have no chance in this game without Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch. I think Pittsburgh was playing better regardless, but now, I'd be surprised if the game goes down the final minutes.

From the predictions, it looks like some people just don't like Pittsburgh...and others don't realize what Haynesworth means to the Titans.

Let me refresh your memory...he missed three games during the Titans 10-6 campaign in 2007 during Weeks 10-12...here were the results of those games...

Week 10 vs. Jacksonville - 28-13 Loss

Week 11 @ Denver - 34-20 Loss

Week 12 @ Cincinnati - 35-6 Loss

In the last two seasons, the Titans are 22-5 with Haynesworth in the lineup and 0-3 without him...

Check out the difference in the Titans defenses with vs. without in 2007...

With Haynesworth (10-3)

15.4 Points per game allowed

290.8 Total Yards per game

80.5 Rushing Yards per game

22.5 Rushing Attempts per game

3.6 Yards per carry

4 Rushing TD's

Without Haynesworth (0-3)

32.3 Points per game allowed

349.0 Total Yards per game

160.0 Rushing Yards per game

35.3 Rushing Attempts per game

4.5 Yards per carry

6 Rushing TD's

They're not beating a team like Pittsburgh with him on the sideline.

The Titans won't run on the Steelers. And, minus Albert and Vanden Bosch, the Steelers won't have a lot of trouble running on Tennessee, IMO.

This game will get ugly. The Steelers should dominate.

I'll say...

Steelers 31, Titans 13

C'mon 5, no sandbagging allowed.

I'm not sandbagging. If the Titans were coming in at 100% on defense, I think this would be a low scoring defensive struggle decided in the final minutes that either team could win.

Minus "Big Al" the Titans just aren't the same defense or team. Read post #20...I have the numbers to back my conclusion up. Based on history, I have no reason to expect the Titans to keep playing the same defense minus their best player...

Have you seen the Steeler offense? I know you have. Do you truly think they can hang 31 on the Titans? Even minus your two big boys? I don't!!!

Absolutely...take Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch out of the lineup and the Titans defense is mediocre at best.

Its possible they can go on adrenaline, rise up and play over their heads one week for a big game...but, I'm not expecting it. And, I know it wouldn't be representative of what they'd do on a weekly basis minus those guys.

Maybe the Steelers will make some mistakes and turn the ball over...that's always possible.

I was really looking forward to this game. Since they've been the best two teams, I wanted to see how the Titans matched up...but, injuries have ruined this one.

I agree with 5 wide to an extent. I think with those two they beat the Steelers... without them they are a totally different team. The only thing I don't agree with is Pitt's offense. I don't think they score that many. I have said for years Fischer is one of if not the best in the business. I just think losing those two is too much to overcome this weekend.

Fisher is a great coach. But, it doesn't matter how good you are if you don't have the players. There isn't a defensive player in the league as important to his team's success as Haynesworth is to Tennessee.

The Titans defense in '07 gave up almost a full 17 points more in games played without him. 15.4 vs. 32.3...28 was the lowest they allowed without him and the only time they held a team under 30.

And, that's just minus Haynesworth...Vanden Bosch was playing then. You're taking him out of the equation this time.

Replace the best DT (and possibly the best defensive player) in the league and one of the best DE's with Jason Jones, Kevin Vickerson and Dave Ball...and play the best team in the league.

I figure the Steelers will hit somewhere in the 27-35 point range...and the Titans may not reach double digits.

They'll lose this game in the neighborhood of 3 TD's.
