If Romo was a free agent there would be very few teams that wouldn't want him IMO.

 

I can think of more than a few that wouldn't want or need him.

The Panthers might have to rely a lot on their running game next week, and the Giants have a good run D. The winds might be a swirling again in Giants stadium next week.

 

But doesn't that mean the Giants have to have a running game as well?

I really wasn't directing that at HB20...I was thinking about the "experts" I've seen on TV and heard on the radio who claim Plax's absence won't affect them much, if any.

Watching that game yesterday, I felt that it was less about Plax and more about missing Jacobs and then losing McKenzie and Seubert during the game. The lack of a running attack is what cost them last night.

 

No doubt Jacob's absence hurt...

 

And missing two starting lineman won't help any team.

I will say it again as long as he is the starting QB they will not when it all. I am a lifetime Dallas fan and know a lot of other lifetime fans who think the same way on this matter.

 

You could just as easily say as long as Wade Phillips is the coach...or as long as TO is there...

 

Romo is still a young guy. I don't understand the mindset of fans who single out one of their top players as the reason for their lack of success...Tony Romo isn't the reason Dallas can't win a Super Bowl.

 

I seem to recall an offensive line that completely fell apart combined with some key drops by WR's (*cough* Patrick Crayton *cough*) that doomed the Cowboys in last year's playoff.

 

I'm not a Cowboys fan. Maybe my opinion would be different if I were. But, I doubt it. As a Titans fan, I think I'd pick Romo over Kerry Collins or Vince Young.

I agree that if Jacobs is out it will be hard for the Giants to win the super bowl, but I don't think it will be impossible.

 

The Giants will bounce back, I expect them to get a big win over Carolina sunday.

 

I'll have to disagree there...with Burress already out, there's no way the Giants can win another Super Bowl if Jacobs doesn't play either.

 

They've overcome the losses of Strahan and Osi, partially because the offense has carried a bigger load this season than last...take away the top two weapons on their offense and the whole team suffers. They struggle to move the ball and score, meaning they can't wear teams down and they aren't playing with a lead...and that affects a defense that thrives on pressure, especially when they force teams to play from behind.

 

The Giants are like the Titans, IMO...they need to focus on making sure they're as healthy as possible when the post-season starts because they've potentially got some key guys banged up. That's more important than winning the top seed in the post-season.

They do have one. One bad game and you think they don't have one? They are one of the top running teams in the league.

Was it just one game? I was under the impression that it was 3 in a row which coincided with Plax being out.

 

Their numbers the last 3 games sans Buress:

 

35 carries 108 yards 3.1 YPC 1 Touchdown

24 carries 88 yards 3.7 YPC 0 Touchdowns

17 carries 72 yards 4.2 YPC 0 Touchdowns

 

Totals for 3 Games:

 

76 Carries 268 Yards 3.5 YPC 1 Touchdown

 

Part of it has been Jacobs injury but Buress has had a huge impact as well. They have not been even a decent offensive team the last 3 games with only 36 offensive points scored.

I think Carolina is playing much better than the Giants and win in a close one.
