December 15, 200817 yr If only one could rewind 12 months........................... 12 months ago the Giants wrapped up their playoff spot in week 16. I don't think the Cowboys can do that this year.

I have seen brutal stretches before, but nothing like this. The Giants are 6-2 so far in that stretch, which is unbelievably impressive. They’ve earned every bit of their 11-3 record so far. And I guess if they’re going to get that 12th win and a bye, they’re going to have to earn that, too. It's not like the Giants are losing to bad teams. They have played 8 games in a row vs teams with winning records, and after the next two weeks it will be 10 games in a row. Pretty tough schedule...11-3 isn't bad.

December 15, 200817 yr Giants in a world of trouble. How good has the Dallas defense looked the last two weeks? :scared: Seriously...the defense has been great. I didn't think the 'Boys had it in them to "out tough" the Giants. It bodes well for them if they can get in the playoffs. I just don't like the Giants as much without Plax. I don't care how much people try to downplay his absence...game planning to stop them is significantly easier now and you can't underestimate the effect that has. Not to mention the effect it will have on Eli as the games get bigger and he doesn't have the dependable stud WR on the outside to go to.

December 15, 200817 yr True, but then again they're going to have to beat these same teams come playoff time. Not many teams would go undefeated through that stretch. It takes a toll and honestly, I never expected them to even be 11-3 at this point. I would have thought 9-5 at best. 11-3 is a really good record considering their schedule. Plus, the Giants offense played pretty bad last night ON THE ROAD and the Cowboys only won by 12 points. I'm not going to panic just yet. The Giants are a solid team and I'm sure they'll fix what isn't working come playoff time.

Watching that game yesterday, I felt that it was less about Plax and more about missing Jacobs and then losing McKenzie and Seubert during the game. The lack of a running attack is what cost them last night.

Boothe is not a good tackle IMO and having to put him and Reugamer in at the same time really made the Giants strong point (the Oline) their weak point. Not having Jacobs did hurt a lot too. Their running game wasn't the same. BTW, did you know the Giants signed Corey Webster to an extension? 5 years, worth $43 million I think. He is worth it now IMO, he's really improved over the last year.

I didn't like the move. I am not the biggest Corey Webster fan. I guess that with the financials of the NFL, this is what the #1 corner should make. It seems like a lot for Webster who has been a good corner for about a season and a third, IMO. I've said this before, though. In Jerry I trust. If he says Webster is worth it, then I'll buy it.

Is there any doubt that these guys are a dramatic drop off. I wish we had drafted some young guys to fill in. We may need the depth this season.

Jerry Reese has done a very good job since he has taken over as GM. And Webster has been VERY good this year. I believe he's only allowed 1 TD...
December 16, 200817 yr Last week there were people all over BGP acting like the Boys were done and I even got called out for being a blind fan. There is A LOT of football left. Dallas has the talent to win the Super Bowl but still have 2 of the better teams in the league. Their playoffs started last night by making a statement against the Giants. The Giants aren't the same without Jacobs. There have been some that act like losing Plax is no big deal. Losing his talent hurts but what hurts worse is that Manning now has the pressure to READ more defenses and diagnose more blitzes etc. When Plax was there he got bracketed a lot and it limits what defenses can do. No the pressure is on Eli and thus far he hasn't responded. No Jacobs no Super Bowl shot IMO. Plus they are getting banged up more and more just like Dallas has been. Dallas has faught through it and almost won in Pitt's and did handle the "world champs". I am one Cowboys fan that defended Romo last week. He has a lot to prove in the playoffs but people are silly to act like he's not one of the better QB's in the league. Baltimore coming off a tough loss will be another brutal matchp for the Boys Sat night.
