I agree big time with your choice on Carney, this will be a break out year for him no matter where he plays for Ryle, but I am am not so sure that it will be 2nd base even though it should.

Great ball player. Speed, good arm. Just needs to work on his hitting a little bit and he'd be gold. Although outfield is a great spot for him, especially with that size 16'' glove that he uses lol. He's also a very nice kid.

Tomas Barrett of Bellevue can play the outfield with anybody. Not a power hitter but a pretty good lead off man when his bat gets hot. Look for big things from this kid this year.

From what I saw last year through the playoffs, Mark Kelly is going to be one of the top outfielders in the region.

I did mean "Best at Each Position in NKY", sorry for the confusion. Maybe a moderator can add that. Also, didn't mean to start any tension for anyone, but it seems to be hard to have fun on this site without someone getting riled up.

Also, did not mean to overlook Mr. Pugh from Conner, super bat, could be my DH and I do really like AJ Smith from Beechwood, I have nothing against Beechwood, good friends with a lot of people there. If you look at my picks, there are a lot of different schools mentioned.

First of all, are you seriously saying that any of these 4 CCH players do not belong. Aside from A.J. Smith, which other Beechie would you add. The Slusher and Larrimore kids are good players but I don't think I would put them in front of the other guys. Who from St. Henry would you add. And even though my son graduated from CCH, I don't have ties to those 4 kids, but anyone who has seen them play would agree that they are 4 of the best kids in NKY.

Ok, that's a fair question, as long as you make your case for some players whose names you think should replace them. :thumb: But they're certainly legitimate nominees to start out this thread.

Gee, I hate to be defending CCH but . . . I don't think it's fair to say these players aren't some of the region's best simply because they haven't won a Regional championship. CCH made it to the 2007 Regional championship game and lost a close one to Ryle :thumb:, which you could hardly blame on these players given they were only sophomores at the time. Last year as juniors, these players were instrumental in helping CCH compile a pretty impressive regular season record and again advance to the Regional final, where they simply came up against a very hot pitcher. I doubt you'd find many baseball people who would not tell you that CCH is the clearcut 9th Region 2009 pre-season favorite, due in large part to these players.

Conner may surprise some teams this year with a potentially good pitching staff, composed of Shuttleworth, Samad, Noll, and Gill! They really need someone to step up at shortstop, but otherwise should be quite competitive!

Remember the name of the thread says, "The Best At Each Position in NKY", and that would be individual best, regardless of which team they play for. On the other hand, I do agree with Coop, with these 4 kids plus some of the other kids they have back and coming up, they should be the favorite. But that would be another thread.

What about Volz for St. Henry in the outfield? Maybe Speed or Hitchcock?

Thats the only one I would pick, NKY has a nice supply of short stops though.

Also what about Lessley from Dixie at second?

A lot of CCH kids, but I will have to agree they are the team to beat in the 9th.
