Montgomery 40 GRC 33

Featured Replies

Was a good game. Montgomery did not shoot very well but GRC did not give up.

It's hard to win a game when you shoot 24%, but the Lady Indians did it tonight.

Very proud of the Lady Cards. Great effort.

Good job Montgomery girls

GRC played without Jewell Rogers. With her in the game there could have been a different outcome.

Why didn't she play?

Why didn't she play?

I don't know. Will try and find out at school on Tuesday.

2 best teams in the region. I'm sure they'll see a lot of each other this year.

Wow ! Seems the gap between #1 and #2 in the region is not very far. I know Montgomery will not shoot 24 % every night but it sure should give some of the other 10th region teams some hope.

I think Jewel Rogers is supposed to be back Monday. Got into a little trouble so we will keep it at that. No more comments on it from me.

That's what I had heard as well. I don't know the details and I really don't care to know.

Just my opinion, but I thought Mongomery Co seemed to play uninspired and with no emotion, as GRC out hustled them for most of the game. Mont Co won strictly on having more talent at this time, but if the Rogers girl had played, it might have been a different outcome. Montgomery Co puts me sorta of mind about the 1978 Ky Wildcats where "it was the season of no fun" as all their fans expected them to win. Also, I still think Mike Kindred would have made Mont. Co a better coach when Coach Robinson was hired two years ago!

Kindred built that program initially. Not anything against Robinson, or High or Newkirk before her for that matter, but the talent on that team is greatly due to Lea Prewitt working with those girls in AAU constantly.

Does Jewell Rogers really make them a better team? I pose that question because it seems she gets suspended every year. Why is that? Is the coach to tolerant of her behavior just because she is a great athlete and not taking into account that when she gets in trouble at school she is letting down her team mates! This has been the story of her career, great talent but is all about herself, or so it seems. That is why the better programs in the 10th over the past few years have had success, they play as a team and no one individual is bigger! That's my thoughts on the matter. She hasn't learned from past mistakes why will she now?
