December 10, 200817 yr 3 UK Players have filed the necessary paperwork to enter the NFL draft. This does not mean that they're going to the NFL - this is just a formality that every junior should go through to gauge where they're at & how they're viewed by those on the next level. Trevard Lindley, Micah Johnson, & Jeremy Jarmon are the 3 Wildcats. Hopefully all 3 will return next year. If so, I think Kentucky will have another solid defense next year.
December 10, 200817 yr I don't think any of the 3 will be a first round pick but Lindley has the best chance of the 3, would say definitely a 2 rounder. Jarmon has a chance at being a first day pick but I don't think Micah goes until day 2.

He is one of the top DB's in the SEC and has done a pretty good job of locking up some premier WR's in the nation. I do think that if he comes back he'll be able to improve his stock even more next year, though. I'd like to see all 3 of them come back, but you can't fault somebody for testing the waters. A good decision by all 3 to file the paperwork, IMO.
December 10, 200817 yr This is just something that any underclassmen should do. Keep your options open and maybe the NFL will come calling. Your only one play away from your career being over. Test the waters and if it doesn't work this year come back and prove yourself again next year.

I don't know what the college DB situation is looking like for next year, but I have a hard time believing that Lindley wouldn't be one of the top, if not THE top DB returning for next year. Micah Johnson is an animal, but he has suffered quite a few injuries this year that may hold him back. Wesley Woodyard put up some big numbers at Kentucky & in the SEC but was not a high draft choice. Micah has better physical tools, but I think he'd benefit from another year. I think Jarmon may be better off to make the jump to the NFL, although I'd love to see him come back. For some reason I was thinking he was only a soph?

December 10, 200817 yr Lindley will be a 1st rounder most likely. I don't see him coming back. I can see Trevard Lindley going in the NFL's first round. He is an outstanding college, blanket coverage corner, but a first round corner is a physical freak who runs like an Olympic sprinter and ox strong. Trevard Lindley is a finesse defensive back. I am told that his 40 speed on the pro scouts watch at Pro Day is not impressive enough for a first round pick. He seems to be one of those players who has another gear in the games and that is to his advantage. Also to his advantage is the fact there are not a lot of great corners out there in the 2009 NFL draft.
December 10, 200817 yr I can not see Micah Johnson playing an NFL linebacker position. I don't see the sideline to sideline speed or the swivel hips from players who have played that position. Because of that, I can't see him being drafted in the 2009 draft. I have always felt that Micah Johnson's best shot at playing at the next level would be as a defensive lineman. I think Jeremy Jarmon has a good shot of playing defensive end in the league. He doesn't quite have the height the NFL scouts love, but is an outstanding football player who needs another year of preparation in the college game.

Most projections I have seen have Lindley as a first day guy. About the #5 corner overall. I don't believe Jarmon and Johnson project as high as Lindley.
