They will also have Steffen Roll from football. Big kid who rebounds and sets nice screens. He will help the inefficient post game.

I agree. NCC will have to get production out of Pangallo and Conner consistently every night or it could be a long season for the Breds.

agree very much accept the offensive production needs to come from Meyer and Connor but won't happen if the bigger players won't set picks? Pangallo handles the ball well but to much one on one but did keep the came close in the 4th. Geisler was spectacular!!! Hopefully he can keep it up. Connor and Meyer looked to be the better defenders as Meyer did a nice job on Giwa several times but seemed to be asigned to guard someone else? Connor was fighting very hard on the boards as was Meyer. NCC is a good team and well rounded. Holy Cross plays very hard!

Great back and forth game early in the year with a pretty good atmosphere for a couple small schools. Both teams came to play. Hc didn't rebound all that well but when senior C/PF Mike Sullivan can get into the swing of things after a good senior season of football this HC team could be dangerous if they continue to play hard nosed defense and hustle.

I was wondering about Sullivan. He's a big strong player who is a banger inside. He'll make HC even better!!!!

So how many players is NCC missing because they are still in the State Finals for football? Not to take anything away from Holy Cross - cause I figured that HC would be tough this year and surprise some teams.

I think Jake Geisler is the only one. Someone may be able to correct me though.

I'll agree with Holmes and Boone but Ryle is average at best IMO as is HC, NCC which is ok.

No I think they'll be able to compete definitely. Those teams, especially Boone, will win a few more games than the rest of the area, but I don't think they're a whole lot better than the others. It just seems like this year is pretty wide open after Holmes.

O, ok I misunderstood and I agree with you on that. Also, I think Holmes will have some tough games in the 9th.

I think that is a stretch to compare to Boone, but Ryle, yes

Right, Highlands wont be any good this year after that win down at the fieldhouse over the Defending state champ.

 

I dont know what you expect as far as what is good in your eyes. There are only 2 Regions that produce State Ranked teams in bunches and those are the 7th and 11th Regions. I think having teams like Holmes, Boone Co, Highlands, Ryle and maybe throw in there NCC once they get fully loaded, is a pretty formidable Region. Not to mention St. Henry who can surprise some folks come February. Holy Cross is well coached and will beat some teams as well.

 

I guess maybe my expectations of a good Region is when you have a solid 1-5 who could beat teams from around the state on any given night. I think the 9th has potential to do this with their 1-5.
