December 6, 200817 yr Few more off my head that some know but not a lot of mainstream folks watch I don't think: Reservoir Dogs Usual Suspect Primal Fear Older movies: Of Mice + Men Where The Red Fern Grows Full Metal Jacket (Platoon is good too but I think a lot more folks watched it) Recent: No Country for Old Men (that's the badest vilian I"ve ever seen in a movie I think... INTENSE!) There is one that is right on the tip of my tounge and I can't remember who was in it or the name. It will come too me.
December 6, 200817 yr Lucky Number Slevin was it! There is another really good one we saw several months ago that didn't get much pub but was really good. I'll post it if it comes back to me. Movies like the 6th sense + 7 were really good too. They are probably a little more mainstream though. Stand By Me is one of my all time favorites. The younger generation might not have seen it. I love that movie!
December 6, 200817 yr I loved the "Dancing Outlaw" and "Bubba Ho-Tep". I also like the original "All Quiet on the Western Front". There was also a Costner movie that I forget the name of. It was something like "3000 Miles to Graceland" that I really liked. It was Costner being something different before he was "Mr. Brooks". I also liked "A Perfect World" and "The War".

I have every season and the movie on DVD.:ylsuper::ylsuper: I even have a TPB tshirt I ordered from a Canadian company a few months back. Ive only saw the movie but I liked it. I never even knew it was a show til a while after I saw the movie.

Same for Full Metal Jacket and No Country for Old Men.

December 6, 200817 yr Almost everytime I see War Games on TV I stop and watch some of it. Me too. And that's how I tend to judge how much I like a movie and whether or not to include it in these lists - when I'm channel-surfing and stumble upon one of these movies - do I stop and watch.
December 6, 200817 yr Lou Gossett in Iron Eagle I was THISCLOSE to meeting Lou at a convention in New Jersey in October. He got sick and had to cancel the rest of his public appearances this year. Oh well, he is an amazing actor. Hopefully he will be okay, he does stay very busy. Since Wargames was mentioned, I can pass along this useless info. On the DVD commentary, they mention how the film was intended to be serious, that it was based on news events at the time, since tensions were high with Russia. They also said that computer technology was as high tech as it could get. They laugh about it now because it so dated, but here is a good idea just how far things have come in the last 20 plus years. They mention on the DVD that the FASTEST connection you could get was 14K. To put that in perspective, nowadays, the slowest you will find in Dial Up is about 56K or so. Of course with DSL and now Cable well over 6MB, we are talking nearly 1 million times faster than what it was 20 years ago. :lol:
