Obama's birth certificate has not been produced. They are not the same.

 

Unlike most previous presidential candidates, Obama has sealed many of his records, including for example, his birth certificate and his college records.

The only valid proof is the actual (not a copy, an affidavit, or any other "substitute"). Obama can end the speculation by having the actual certificate made public and having it scrutinized by an independent (if there is such a thing) group of experts. Hiding it only generates more distrust and Obama already has a lot of people who distrust him and his motives.

 

Why not start wiith a clean slate?

Much like "Joe the Plumber" case, I expect that Donofrio's personal information will be "accidently" release to the press in order to discredit him. It could be worse...he could end up "Vince Fostered"

Because the proof has been provided. The proper Hawaiian officials have already stated that he was born in Hawaii, based on the states records. That makes all of this made up controversy "nutty". I am also curious as to why no such similar requests were made of any presidential candidate in my memory. Since the President-elect has provided more proof than has been required of others who have held the office, it would seem to me that the burden of proof is on those that would question his qualifications.

Assuming Obama is a natural born citizen, then he should ask the state of Hawaii to make an official copy of his birth certificate available to those who have challenged his eligibility.

I never claimed that there is a conspiracy afoot and I never called anybody a "nut" either. I just believe that our Constitution applies to every US citizen, including President-Elect Obama. Obviously, not everybody agrees.

I have already read the factcheck opinion. The fact checkers have not examined the birth certificate, only the certificate of live birth, which the Obama campaign obtained in 2007. Neither the hospital in which Obama was born nor the attending doctor are listed on the piece of paper posted on Obama's web site. Nor does the birth announcement list the hospital in which Obama was born.

 

All Obama has to do is produce a real birth certificate that lists his place of birth and other information contained in other Hawaiian birth certificates that were issued in 1961 and this issue will go away. Otherwise, many people will continue to speculate about what Obama is hiding.

OKAY EVERYONE LISTEN UP- VERY IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND(Not meaning to yell, but this needs to be clear)

 

There have been suits to demand that Obama show an origianl Birth Certificate. Those have no gone anywhere. HOWEVER- The cases that may be heard HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SHOWING A BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

 

 

THe Donofrio Case is IMO the ONLY case that matters right now. Donofrio DOES NOT DISPUTE THE VALIDITY OF THE COLB PRODUCED by the Obama campaign and placed on websites such as http://www.factcheck.org . OBAMA BEING BORN IN HAWAII MATTERS NOT.

 

Because his father was not a US Citizen, then Obama, according to Donofrio, CANNOT BE A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. A Natural Born Citizen must be born in the US, as most of us have always been taught and belived, but a Natural Born Citizen must also have TWO CITIZEN PARENTS. Obamas father never became a citizen according to the case, so therefore could never be a Natural Born Citizen, even if he was born in the White House, swaddled in the Constitution.

 

Once again, not trying to yell with the caps, but things need to be clear. There are arguments that can be made about the validity of the COLB vs. A "long form" birth certificate, but IMO, any argument about that is moot without meaning from the Donofrio case.
