BUT: Now is the time that the mountain teams run into things we rarely see on our schedules. More athleticism, more game changers, more pressure and more experience. This is where most of us usually end our runs. There are exceptions, but most of those exceptions are elite teams themselves and have been there before. Just MO. Just a thought, based on what we often see. How many Mountain teams have you seen, Les, have stellar years just to end up crushed by the traditional powers?

Right, Breeze, but I think we're just trying to show that you can't blowoff what is a proven pattern. Could WCHS win? YES! Does history favor them? NO! Will the game still be played? YEP!

Is HHS 9-1 when making it this far? Yep.

That is the scary part, though, and what I have been trying to say. They HAVE been here before and know what it is all about. I think this gives them an edge due to WCHS figuring this out as they go along.

Is HHS necessarily better? No.

Does experience make them better? Probably.

Yea Highlands has a great tradition, and experience can make a big difference. But unlike the NFL where you may have the same players for years this is high school and these are this years kids. As long as the Whitley County kids continue to believe in themselves and don't care who Highlands is they have at least a even chance. It's going to be all in the mental preparation who wins this game. Should be an awsome game to be at and may make the trip.

I don't know about an even chance.

They have a chance just by still being there to play it. The mental preperation is part, but the physical part will also be the challenge. WCHS has athletes and can compete well with the local and district teams. HHS has more athletes and experience. The mental part of the game is probably HHS edge, due to experience.

A surprisingly easy win for Whitley.
