The Lee County Bobcats will be holding their annual "Blue & White Night" Friday night beginning @ 5 PM at the Lee County High School in Beattyville.

Three-point shoot out

 

Dunk contest (several participants this year including 6'5" transfer Dontarius Pittman, 6'6" Jared Pelfrey, 6'4" Aaron Charles, 6'3" Tyler Campbell, 6'3" Zeke Phillips and perhaps one or two more).

 

Should be a fun and entertaining evening as the Bobcats kick off the '09 Season!

Any word on how the team looks? Who do they have returning?

It appears Lee County will have the size to match anyone in the region. That's a BIG lineup.

Would love to see the dunk contest since I am off work but took a local 5th grade team to coach and we have a game. Lee sounds like a very good lineup with the new kid and the players that are returning. Sure wanted to make the games tonight but guess Ill have to wait until another game.

They had a lot of fun last night. They look really big, strong and athletic. Senior Archie Reece won the three point shoot out and senior Zeke Phillips won the dunk contest. Both Pittman and Philips had dunks in the game.

 

If this team passes well they have plenty of offensive weapons from all over the court. Their height and long arms will alter some shots on defense. IMO, if they rebound like they should they will be a very tough team.

 

Test tonight against Paris at the Powell County panaroma.

My grand daughter used to go to Lee Co. She now goes to Buckhorn High School, where i graduated.

Lee County is looking strong. I didn't see the scrimmage with Paris Saturday, but saw them against Menifee and was impressed. Size is no issue as every starter is over six feet. Jarred Pelfrey has dropped about 20 pounds, and looks like a different player. The new kid can rebound, block shots and really run the floor Tyler Campbell looks like he may be able to just take a game over. Good outside shooters with Wise and Charles. This team may be better than the one that won All A regional couple of years ago.

Doesnt surprise me to see Archie Reese win the 3 point shoot out. His dad was a real good shot from deep outside. Cannot remember if they had the 3 point shot back then. Still cannot wait to see this team play.

IMO this team is better than the team that lost to Owsley in th first round of the district in 06 07.

Aaron Charles is the starting pg. He is only a little short of having triple-doubles in both scrimmages.

I will be anxious to see how that works out with Charles at the point. I know he is more than capable to play there but I am curious how he can handle constant pressure instead of being a release of pressure to a true point guard. I am not meaning that in any way as a negative comment because he is one of the top 5 players in the region IMO and a pretty good kid from what I hear.

I think this move will help the player (getting ready to play college ball) but may well hurt the team (he was very good at using the screens his teammates set for him). Only time will tell.
