Serious Abortion Question

Featured Replies

I know this is and probably will still be a very big issue long after I'm gone. My feelings are very mixed because of one big problem.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but here's my question:

If your wife is in the delivery room giving berth and the Dr. tells you she isn't going to make it unless she has an abortion, what are you going to say?

For the record, this is a no brainer for me. I'm keeping my wife alive.

Let's say you are out and your child is in a dangerous position and your wife's choices are to sacrifice her life for her child or to let her child die. What do you think your wife would do?

LBBC answered your question very, very well, but I will ask you this: If someone had to die be it your child or you, who do you choose to die?

My guess and I think you will agree, most parents that I know would rather die, that let their child die!

So what makes it different to you, to allow your unborn child to die in this case?

Both have good points, but still have not answered the question that I asked.

Not the same, could you please answer the question.

I choose my wife. I know what I would do, but at this point and it is one or the other, God forbid, I can't see living without my wife. Losing an unborn child would be difficult, but losing my wife would be worse.

Thanks for the honest answer mex.

I'm not married, so I guess I don't have the same perspective as many of you, but from what I've been told by my parents, it wouldn't be a question. The child lives.

So, according to some belief, if you choose your wife, then you are a murderer. How do you feel about that?

I don't believe you're a murder at all in that case. I do have to ask one question though.....Even if you say you want to save your wife, isn't it ultimately still her choice what happens?

I don't believe that you can be considered a murderer in a situation where you have no free will to choose life. Either way one will die. Murder, by definition, requires intent to kill.

Right now? Yes. But there are some who want that changed.

Maybe a valid arguement for the very small precentage of abortions that might be preformed due to this circumstance, however, the overwelming majority of abortions are preformed merly due to convenience and this scenerio does nothing to justify those henious acts.

I'm not disagreeing at all, but some do. Say the decision is not made at birth, but earlier in the pregnancy?
