This one has the capacity to be a shocker. I picked Male, but with real reservations. Shelby's getting better and better every week at their power running game, after starting the year as a pass-happy team. This is not your typical 1-9 team at all...

Rockets' defense is improving by leaps and bounds, but this is still the team's weak suit. Still, this is not your father's Male squad...

If Shelby can get ahead early, they may just win this one and shock the Bulldogs. Don't be surprised if Shelby wins the time of possession battle big. If Male gets ahead though, or can force Shelby to the air by putting them in long situations, it will be tough for the Rockets to get the upset...

Male 28, Shelby County 14

I def think Shelby can compete with their new found power running game, but Col Mike is correct. If they are forced to throw the football, then it could get ugly for the Rockets. The Rockets need the defense to keep them in the game as long as it possibly can and hope that the Rocket O can get something going.

Male 21-12.

The difference here is I am not sure if Shelby understands how to attack Male pressure package. If the can solve that and shorten the game by running the football they have a chance.

Your point is well-taken, CoachB, but I think that actually plays to Shelby's advantage so long as they can keep it close and work the power I. Creates some big play possibilities for the Rockets on the ground. Shelby has to win this game between the tackles.

If Shelby has to throw, however, the Male D will really take over!

I agree, but remember this you can't bring a six shooter wih just 3 bullets. Shelby needs to turn the youth free and get busy with their pressure package.

U got that right.........

If Male is still using thier classic defense then Shelby has no shot in a power I.

No Shot. That defense was created to destroy a power running team.

I like Male's defense to account for at least two scores

Male's def score twice? Really? You think they are going to pick up 2 fumbles and run them back for TD's? Shelby County is not going to throw it so they cant run back an interception. Maybe you meant Def/Special Teams? I would more so believe this than the def running back 2 fumbles.
