People have said this all year. Garrard is finally putting offense and defense together , and thats dangerous for ANY team they will face. Garrards speed will be able to keep the corners closed on the panthers. This will be alot better game than this.

I know Frankfort had E.J. Fields last season and he was/is a heck of a player. But Quan Weaver might have been the best player on the field in last season's Garrard/Frankfort game. I'm guessing he hasn't gotten worse! Containing him will be a stiff challenge for the Lions defense.

Garrard has seen many good running backs this year. Chris Thomas from Taylor, Spencer Greer from Bell, and Somerset had several good backs. However these teams had other threats as well. If Frankfort is looking to just the one guy to win the game they may need a new gameplan. Not taking anything away from Weaver but last year most teams focused on E.J Fields which got Weaver open alot more. Garrard has definatly improved from last year.

Those backs are good, but they are no Quan Weaver. IMO he is the best player in the state and is just a Jr. Frankfort does a good job getting the ball to other people. If he carried it 30 times a game he would be far ahead of everyone in the state in rushing. You can think waht you want but this MAN is the real deal. Fast and can run over you.

 

By the way how do you fair against these teams with these good backs?

Absolute blow out City, Frankfort can do what they want in this game. The score may not be as high as it could be, because Frankfort may try to rest some players before the play offs.:dancingpa

I agree, score 56 points and lose. That can not be much defense.

The last game I saw Frankfort and Garrard Play each other was in 1987 at Dyehouse stadium in Garrard County. The Panthers beat Garrard in a game where the final score was close but the game itself was not that close. I also remeber a certain asst. coach at Boyle county Chris Mason (Offensive Linemen Frankfort High) completly Dominate one of Garrards Defensive linemen Tim "RED DOG" Davis a deputy sherriff now in Garrard County. My Garrard sources tell me the feud still goes on today.

The final score itself actually wasn't that close. Frankfort won the 1987 game 32-0. The '87 Garrard team was (by record) the worse team in school history. They finished 1-9 and before the final game of the season had only scored 54 points. Henry County won the district that season, followed by Kentucky Country Day. Garrard County, Frankfort and Harrodsburg all missed the playoffs.

I will agree with you about total team speed. However Fred Hayes, Jam Merritt, and Tyler Ray are extremely fast. And Tall Trees yes Garrard lost to Taylor after scoring 56 points, however three of Taylor touchdowns came off and interception and two kick returns. Chris Thomas statisticly is the best running back in central kentucky.
