In one of the longest running rivalries in Southeast Ky. The Jackets and the Moutain Lions go at it this Friday night at Findley Legion Stadium in the Burg. Although Pineville has struggled this year and the Jackets have been flying high, this is still a rivalry game. I know the coaches who have worn the orange still harbor deep seated feelings on this one. The Jackets have been a bit banged up and hopefully the bye week let them heal a bit. I look for them to build momentum for a playoff run and pick them 48 to 12.

Rivalry or not it makes no difference...........

Williamsburg by a bunch.

Pineville has three players listed on the KHSAA DQ report.

PHS tends to get "emotional" in games. They lose their composure from time to time. I hope it is a clean game and the players from both teams stay healthy. I think if WHS plays well they win.

They did at Walton this past weekend. When your coach loses his composure how can you expect anything different from the players? WHS wins by 2 touchdowns!

Coach Elam, under the circumstances, did a remarkable job of keeping his composure. I believe a lot of coaches would have lost it and been thrown out of game. Pineville had two touchdowns called back due to questionable penalties....something that prevailed for all of the first half...I believe 11-1 or such against Pineville. Mild mannered Pineville fans who never criticize officiating were still livid on Monday morning around "coffee groups"!!!

And apparently Pineville did not have it out of their system yet.

They had a JV game at LC last night that got stopped with time on the clock due to some Mountain Lion "attitude issues" on the field.

With or without the 3 players, this game was already Williamsburg's.

Maybe it was provoked by the onside kick with more than a thirty point lead at the end of the game. Not nice!

Maybe the on side kick was provoked by some of the on field stuff that had been going on from just after kick off. There was some pretty terse stuff being said, aimed at a certain kid. There were a couple of Mountain Lions that should never have made it out of the 1st qtr., but the officials let them play on. There was one kid in particular that the coach singled out and in no uncertain terms told him to "Shut your mouth, now", loud enough for all of us to hear. He never did shut his mouth. He was even yelling that when the officials stopped the game that that was an official forfeit and "We (Pineville) win".

Maybe it was because Pineville poured it on the LC JV last year when they had them down?

It was a pitiful display of sportsmanship not only by the players and coaching staff but by the fans as well. I'm not sure what the actual penalty count was in the first half, as neither are you, but if there were 11 penalties called on Pineville, i would venture to guess that 4 of them were unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. It would be interesting to know what Coach Elam's opinion of the officiating is after he got a chance to watch the game tape.

Getting back to the Williamsburg vs. Pineville thread, I believe the 'Burg will win by three scores.

Mod, may we please have a poll added?
